If we pick up Sidney Rice, do we still draft a WR in 1st round?

I have a feeling with Idzik's knowledge of Rice and his ability, he may pick him up on a one year deal. If we do this, do we still go after a WR in round 1 or look at corner or safety??

regardless of who we pick up doesn't matter who we select in the draft, idzik will always go BPA

BPA as long as it's not a DT or DE

If Rice is healthy enough to play, I don't mind signing him to a one year deal with low guarantees. I don't think it should make any difference who we draft though.

We are likely drafting a CB in round 1 Sidney Rice or not, even though I hate mock drafts there all leaning towards us going CB in round 1 and I fear it may happen

the only way i see rice signing here is after the draft. if the draft doesn't fall right for us to get a wr high or things don't look good in mini camp then rice might get a call.

I just have a feeling we sign CJ and Sidney Rice this week or next, guving us Decker, Rice, and Kerley on outside. That gives us option to go CB or even TE in draft (if Ebron falls to us). I am just really excited about where we stand, our core is young and we have cap room..

I really don't see Ebron falling to us ,The Giants will snatch him up before we get a chance at him.I think Brandin Cooks WR or Kyle Fuller cb will be our first round pick this year

In no universe should injury prone Rice steer us away from taking a WR.

Exactly, not sure why this is even a question. Rice hasn't produced a good season since Favre and hasn't played a full season in forever. Even if we added D-Jax we were still likely going to draft a receiver at some point..

I still would if they think they got their guy. If we picked up Rice i'd prefer a TE.

You mean like last year when every single draft pick was a big need? Oh yeah, of course, BPA.

If we had interest in Rice we would have known it by now..might as well ask about Miles Austin too.

Rice is a injury waiting to happen he is definitely not a reason to by pass a WR in the first.

I'm stunned anyone is even taking Rice seriously. His body is shot and he was never a "good receiver" to begin with aside from a couple of nice 4-game stretches years ago.

If much rather draft two WRs on the first 4 rounds then waste money on sub-par waiver refugees.

Even if we sign another veteran receiver I would like to see us pick up at least two to three receivers in the draft. Given Idzik picks BPA, I would be happy even if we do not select a receiver in the first round but two receivers between rounds two through four. It is a deep receiver plentiful draft and if we are not selecting Evans or Watkins in the first round whom are regarded as the only elite receivers then we should draft the best player available on our board or trade down increasing our amount of picks. I believe we can get better value with our pick by dropping down while still being able to select a great player able to have an impact.
