I would say durability concerns. Take it as you will, but Mike Mayock has Lee as his 3rd best receiver over Cooks and OJB (LSU WR). I honestly think Lee is a better fit for the Jets then Cooks, I think Lee could come out the gate and produce for us right from the start.
You could. I think that's fair. It's also possible no team exceeded his number for Decker. Seemed like Decker was treated as a high priority. Not getting the same feeling with any other FA's so far. Maybe CJ will be different.
Maybe he will treat CJ as a priority, maybe he won't. I think it's an unfair criticism of Idzik to just assume we aren't willing to be the highest bidder though, which your post seemed to imply. You seem to be one of the more reasonable people on here but there are a lot of hysterical posters making unreasonable (IMO) criticisms of Idzik as if he never signed a FA or outbid another team in his life.
I believe the only other team interested was The Colts and Broncos. Neither would be the place for his attention seeking wife, NYC is. So the Jets were actually competing against no one unless the Giants were interested (they weren't).
So you're arguing that the #1 FA WR only had interest from the Colts, Jets and Broncos. I guess the rest of the teams in the league were set at WR. Cool. Hopefully the rest of the NFL is set at RB too. Then maybe we'll have an outside chance to land CJ.
the Bills traded for Mike Williams from Tampa. Alot of teams who pick before us have signed or traded for receivers. Alot better odds that Ebron and Mike Evans are there at 18?
I'm not arguing at all. And it has nothing to do with what other teams needs are or were. Get a link about other teams interested in Decker. In my search all I found is what I posted. CJ has interest from other teams which is why some poster are saying we won't get him Me? I don't know, but if the past signings are any indication of what Idzick is thinking. Than I would say no.. Doesn't mean Idzick won't sign him and I hope he does.
I trust Idzik, I would really love CJ2K and think he could do great things for the team and the fan base. His ability to make big plays in this sports market could really be a big opportunity for both he and the team.
Are the Bills going to assume he is going to be good to go for the season? He just got stabbed in the leg and has had other issues.
Oh no, definitely not a criticism. In my initial post, I prefaced it with, "Not saying it's a bad thing". I really believe that. As much fun as jumping on big nanes is, I really think (and hope) Idzik's approach will lead to long term success. I also agree with you that CJ may well be treated as a priority. I'd love to have him at the right price.

There was a tweet from rapaport suggesting the Texans, Browns and Lions were potential landing spots but it's unclear whether that's just his opinion to me. I'm sure there were many conversations in NFL FO's that were never reported.

I can't imagine this will take more than a few days for CJ?K to find a team. Everyone and their mother has known he was gonna get released. I'd be willing to give 3 years $12 mill with 5.5 gtd. What is everyone else willing to give?
