Haha..Mark was one? Are you delirious? 25 turnovers a year 2 years in a row..the worst QB rating in the league, bottom 10 completion rating? You are insane. Where are those QBs? I have no idea. Seattle stepped in shit with Wilson, a 3rd round pick. Not quite as deep a pile of shit as NE did with Brady, a 6th round comp pick. The point is teams build around a QB, they don't build in spite of who their QB is. The Jets should be drafting a QB every year until they step in that pile of shit too.

worst talent in the league around him, Eli had more TOs than Mark ever had last year w/ top 10 talent around him.

How do you know Geno isn't it? the man got better late in the year, he's in year 2 and will have much more talent around him this year.

How do you know they won't draft a QB this year?

sanchez was not a franchise qb. he is statistically the worst QB of all time for anyone with 60 or more starts.

True, the real back breaking play occurred when we were up 14-6, it was a 2nd and 7, we run 5 yards and get a 3rd and 2 BUT Woody who was on the other side of the play got an offsides penalty. So it goes from a 3rd and 2 with a chance to kill the clock in the 2nd quarter, to a 2nd and 12. Rex plays conservatively, we kick a FG and of course Manning had time. If that penalty doesnt happen we are going into half up either 21-6 or 17-6 WITH possession of the ball in the 2nd half. Of course we gave Manning confidence and the rest is history.

Like Francesa said about the Denver punt-block; "That was the one time I actually said, hey the Jets are going to actually win the Super Bowl, have not said it since"

No he's not, to folks that just look at stat sheets you can make that argument. to folks who actually watch the games and understand the game he wasn't.

When i said "Statistically he is the worst starting qb of all time (min: 60+ starts) of course that is about that stat sheet

ad you are full of it... watching sanchez doesnt help his case, it only hurts it. tons of multi pick games. tons of picks in the redzone. tons of careless fumbles. tons of picks late in games. tons of horrific inaccurate passes. sanchez was a terrible qb by any means of observation or measurement. and it isnt debatable. he has had a horrible NFL career.

I don't buy that either way.

you are making things up, when did he have tons of RZ picks? tons of picks late in games? this is why average fans make the rest of us look bad.

Knowledgeable ones realize what he had to work with in 2012 and realize he had ONE bad season.

So sickening... 5 turnovers , Evan Martin had a fumble. That was the best team in my lifetime

He led NFL qbs in turnovers in the redzone in 2010 and was 3rd in 2011

He has also had a ton of turnovers that were returned for touchdowns

he had 3 terrible season and 1 bad one. he has never had a good season

you want to post some documentation on that?

    2010 TOs:

    13 INTs, 1 fumble
    2nd & 7 Jets 23
    3rd and 7 from Den 28
    3rd and 11 GB 43(bogus INT)
    1st and 10 GB 47(bogus INT)
    2nd and 5 Det 37
    3rd and 14 NYJ 46
    2nd and 10 NYJ 23
    2nd and 7 NYJ 36
    2nd and 8 NE 9(first RZ TO)
    2nd and 2 NE 45
    3rd and 7 NYJ 42
    3rd and 18 NYJ 26
    1st and 5 NYJ 33

    fumble:
    3rd and 8 NYJ 24

ONE RZ TO all year, I find it amazing the rest of the league didn't have more than 1.

tons returned for TDs? you want to look that up before I make that look silly too?

The difference is that the 98 Jets would have curb stomped the Falcon in the SB and that 09 Jets team would have taken an ass beating from the Saints in the SB if they have made it

It's pretty ironic that you base your criticism of Namath purely on stats and those who saw Namath play make the same arguments you are making here. There is a lot to be said for seeing a player play, understanding the game in different eras and context. You need to take your own advice.

That is your excuse why I criticize him but I don't base it solely on stats. I understand the era, I never saw him play live but I have seen enough, read enough, heard enough to give an informed opinion. You loved the man, he was your hero- how are you objective? I am objective, I love this team, I appreciate what he and the '68 team did but the reality is he wasn't great for long and most of that was b/c of his durability. You like to pretend he is an all time great and that's just not the case. He is maybe the most important player in the history of the game(at least one of them) but he is nowhere near one of the greatest as painful as it is to hear that about your hero.

It remains to be seen how much talent Geno will have around him this year,The Jets have already begun the process of undermining there qb again by signing Vick.Decker and Kerley aren't enough if we added Dsean and drafted a TE then we would be in buissness

we will have more talent around our QB than at any time since the end of the 2010 season. who those guys are we'll see but we have already significantly increased the talent w/ Decker and there are plenty of other moves to be made.

Thats so not true. Our defense was the only defense that year to shut down that Saint offense, in the Super Dome to. Im not saying we are going to win but Sanchez spotted the Saints 14 points in the first game, it was only his 4th NFL start which was rough.

And just to toss a log on the fire (because i am enjoying the conversation) - Sanchez is #6 all time in post season QBR ... but then again Brees is #4.

    http://www.pro-football-reference.com/leaders/pass_rating_career_playoffs.htm

The point being ... Sanchez for whatever reason just played better in the playoffs. I don't believe he would have totally sunk us in the SB. The Saints would have been very hard to beat though .. regardless of how well we played them earlier that year.
