Everyone here thinks this guy is the second coming of Barry Sanders... He isn't. RB should be the last priority for this team at this point... We are going into the season with Calvin Pace at OLB Ed Reed broken hips at Safety and Kyle Wilson at CB#2.... And yall are worried about running back??
So you are admitting you are talking out of your ass? Cause you just said Powell was better, now you are saying Johnson is better which is it? I'll help you out, Powell couldn't sniff Johnson's jock as an NFL player. Powell is a JAG, Johnson is a declining superstar and proven gamebreaker and a perfect compliment to Ivory. Pretty pointless anyway as Powell probably wouldn't be affected much IF Johnson was brought in. He would still spell Ivory when he inevitably gets injured while Johnson would fill the role we all hoped Goodson would fill.
Because of his contract. He has a HUGE cap hit with his contract. They can't afford that and can't justify paying him that much money considering running backs are getting paid like kickers now. He has a $10 million cap hit this year. Come on now
reed isn't back and may not be, we have 12 picks in the draft and haven't finished FA. Wilson will not be our starting CB, pace is still an effective starter and I don't care how many sacks he has.
Lol how are we still showing interest in signed players???? This is just woody talking his shit again . He wanna be jerry jones so bad
How the fuck can somebody who ran for 1077, 1243 and 1047 yards over the past three seasons suck now? Or even more ludicrous is how can they not be as good as the second stringers we have now?
He doesn't suck but he is nowhere near where he used to and at the price he will want, not worth the value... Simple as that.
And name me a team that will sign him for over that? The top 6 free agent running backs signed for an average of $2.89 million a year. Punters have signed for an average of $2.91. Now why would any team pay him more if the top young guys like Ben Tate, Knowshon Moreno, Donald Brown, all got so little? Why would a guy that is 28 get more than that?
I think he would rather retire then get "underpaid"... He think's his value is way more than it really is.
It's still amazing to me that there are people out there who can't grasp the concept of money and business when it comes to football transactions. The Colts let Peyton Manning walk to Denver... guess that means there was something wrong with Peyton Manning. ...or maybe the team didn't want to pay that kind of money to go in a certain direction.
Bullshit. Why would he retire when he still loves the game of football, is still playing at a somewhat high level, and could make over $2 million a year?
The let Peyton walk because he is one hit away from being paralyzed from the neck down, and that happened to be around the time that his successor was graduating college.
Geuss we gotta see how it plays out.. Maybe I am wrong and he will be a good addition.. Personally though, I am very happy with the RB's we already employ.
