Look, Desean Jackson is a nice player. But he's paid what he's worth and he wants more. He also was never anything exceptional until Chip Kelly came along. And we have an apples to apples comparison here because he'd be back in a MM offense, where he was a decent WR, nothing more. In such a WR heavy draft, why can't we just draft a few guys and one of them might fit the Desean Jackson role? Actually don't bother answering that question, there's already 449 pages of nonsensical ideas.
Because there's no guarantee that any of the picks will be of DJ's caliber. When the opportunity presents itself to acquire proven player at a position of need, it's foolish not to take advantage. I love the draft as much as anyone, but there are no sure things.
If the reason the Eagles want to trade him is that he wants more than his 10 million per I think I changed my mind.
Could be that but also could be that they are pretty stacked at the WR position and just added Darren Sproles as well. If Maclin didn't resign I don't think there's a chance in hell they trade him.
Oh please your so clueless,The guy has had 3 1000 yard plus seasons ,One 916 yard season and the lowest numbers he ever put up were the year he played only 11 games. Not to mention the guy was a Giant killer and was a stud on special teams. The guys a star he always has been,go read his stats before talking out of your ass
He definitely has the potential to add another dimension to an offense, but he also has a reputation of being a diva who gives questionable effort. I'd be wary of how he would respond by earning $10M+ year and working with a QB who could struggle to get him the ball
So after watching the Rex interview with Eric Allen. We clearly will either be drafting/trading for a CB. When he referenced to Walls he called him a relief pitcher. Doesn't seem like something you would call a potential starter.
He played with QB's like Chad Pennington (often injured), Patrick Ramsey, Brooks Bollinger, Kellen Clemens, Brett Favre and Carson Palmer, the latter two for a single season late in his and their careers. Put him with a really good QB for most of his career and he probably had a decent shot at the Hall of Fame.
He's 27 years old, averaged 83 yards and had 9 TD's last year. He's a top ten receiver in the prime of his career. Regardless of whether or not you'd consider him a star, I'll take a guy like that any day.
Yup. Oak and Jets look like most likely RT @BogieWilks: @RapSheet think Raiders still considering Desean trade after acquiring Matt Schaub? Sorry the answer is on top but that's how he RTed it.
Jackson opens the field up for everybody else to work. a BIG decoy going down field and if opposition doesnt account for him going down field its a guarenteed BIG BIG play. DJax is the truth. And he is a fighter out there. Smallest dude on the field ready to throw down with line backers he gets right in their face. Gotta love DJAX. I know Rex like his roster feisty.
Free agency is pretty much everything within an offseason. There are 450 pages and we've signed 3 guys. No point in trying to switch it up now lol
