You do know dogs are not hard wired to be loving and kind. They were forced into that. They were once wild animals that hunted for food.

    Just saying.

Yes They originate from the wolf... It's been 100s of years of domestication. I disagree that there not hard wired to be kind and loving. There pack animals. They have social skills due to such, so there fist instincts even ferel dogs is not violence, it's acceptance. With that said, I'm not looking to turn this into the dog whisperer show. Lol

I understand some people could care less about dogs, I'm not one of them. It's a personal choice to be mad at Vick or not. I just think he's a dirtbag for what he did.

No, not at all. Hes not an easy guy to root for and hes not taking this team anywhere.

I hope we sign him and I hope he starts and has a phenomenal year. Not just because it's the Jets but because of all you people claiming hatred of him.

    That would be sweet.

I have zero problems with this guys past,I just think he should retire he is useless on the field and can't stay healthy.Vick doesn't strike me aa a good mentor and the mentor thing is overrated to begin with.Signing someone just to be a mentor isn't a good enough reason in my eyes,Geno either has it or he doesn't,wtf is he gonna learn from Mike Vick?how to not stay on the field?

Assuming that the the offseason goal is to improve every roster slot possible, with good character people at fair prices, then of course I want him.

He certainly would improve the slot he is placed in assuming he meets the criteria of character and price.

I'm a jet fan, I want them to get better and win. I don't think about stunting development stuff much. Look at Aaron Rodgers. If Geno has the goods, he will prove it. If not, he will fail with or without Vic.

Again you lack the intelligence of football. Ask any football player and they will tell you that veteran leadership does WONDERS for a young athlete with great potential. If you have ever played sports in your life you would know this. Vick could provide a TON of insight to Geno. He's been in the league forever and has had much success in the league. He is of similar play to Geno and has many facets of his game that he can help Geno learn.

You may like him or not but to sit here and say either he has it or not and he does not need a mentor is classic ignorance. When we signed Ed Reed, guys like Antonio Allen and Co. were all over him to learn from a guy of such high stature. That's what veteran leadership does.

Just as Willie Colon stated yesterday:

“His resume in itself is amazing,” said right guard Willie Colon, who re-signed with the Jets on Wednesday. “He is an outstanding athlete, and what he can bring to the table in Coach Mornhinweg’s offense (is impressive). Obviously they have that rapport, they have that relationship that was established in Philadelphia. It is all arrows up when it comes to that situation. Competition helps everybody. Bottom line, anytime you have two guys competing for the same spot all it does is heighten the team’s effort.”

No offense taken, but your projecting human emotions onto animals. And cows are domesticated, but you have no problem that they are abused their whole life before you eat them. Just saying.

Go watch a movie called "food inc" then come back and re read your comment.

Sorry, I was typing on my tab and the auto correct is murder.

Again your changing the narrative, but I understand what your saying. It's a personal choice for me to be disgusted by what he did.

I think the point is, you can't pick and choose what is right and what is wrong. What Vick did was wrong, we get that, but what about all the animal killings that are legal and are just as wrong? Just because society advocates it, makes it Ok? Vick's actions were wrong and he acknowledged that and served his time for it. If you want to hold a grudge on him, that's on you, but then you should logically be holding a lot more grudges on the people that kill and eat other animals.

I am a huge reptile fan. I have owned tons of them in my life. I currently have an Iguana and a 9ft Boa. The Iguana gets so excited when I come home everyday. He is potty trained and loves hanging out with me. He is what is referred to as "domesticated". Any animal can be domesticated, cows, chickens and all animals alike. Killing any of them is not right, but unfortunately society has made it ok. You have many more problems to stress about if you are an animal lover, than a guy like Michael Vick fighting dogs for money.

    Fair enough,

As for Vick, I don't see him as a starter but he is light years ahead of Sims as a back up.

I understand that and it's why I said its a personal choice. I don't condemn him on that level. I personally think he's trash.

To put in perspective my brother and I were discussing plaxico buress and Michael Vick years ago. My position was Vick is a scumbag and deserved jail, plax is an idiot who hurt himself and doesn't deserve to go to jail., My brothers response... Vick may be a dirtbag but didn't put people at risk no jail time. Plax may be dumb but he could have killed someone. He deserves jail time. So It's a personal choice and yes I am biased as a dog person. But I get the undertone of the potential hypocrisy as I eat steaks twice a week. I just don't see it that way

This article convinced me, I would rather the Jets restructure Sanchez and try to trade him next season. Vick has the skills to take over the starting job, but lacks durability and long-term prospects with the team to be worth starting him over Geno. I'm hoping this Vick visit is just posturing for contract negotiation with Sanchez.

It would be another story if the Jets were legitimate Super Bowl contenders and needed another quality quarterback on the roster, but that's clearly not the case.

I just don't see any upside in signing Vick. He's injury-prone and getting up there in years. Even if he's great, he'll still be done in a couple of seasons and our long-term QB situation will still be a mess. I just fail to see how this meshes with building a young , talented roster for the future. I would much prefer sticking with Geno (and I am far from sold on him) and seeing what we have with him.

Nobody is going to trade for Mark Sanchez next season - he's terrible and the entire league knows it. Anybody who could possibly want him on their roster would just wait for him to be cut and sign him for peanuts.
