The Jets probably offered DRC a heavy incentive based contract to cover themselves re: retirement talk. The guy wants it all guaranteed which concerns me.
Was hoping we would snag him up. Shame would have worked very well with us. Is Derrik Cox still available?
Ahhh I wanted him badly here. That's a tough one to miss on. Who's left on the CB market? I guess Cromartie might make his way back here
Derrick Cox signed a one year deal somewhere. Let's hope no one snatches up Antonio before we can. This doesn't look good losing the last free agent corner to our cross -town rival
Roby isn't worth our #18 pick and he won't be around by our second round pick. He also got horribly torched last year on deep passes. Ugh
I thought Cro already went to the Cards? And I'm okay with seeing what we've got with our current group and drafting a CB at some point. Doesn't have to be an early rounder. I liked Walls in college, and he's got potential. Obviously Wilson and Milliner have potential. There's a few veteran options still out there in FA. I would have liked to get DRC, but don't think he's worth the world to bring in.
I almost forgot about Antonio Allen.. He was looking promising before ed reed came in.. Excited to see him back in.. Btw has there been any news on ed reed yet?
Ed Reed is washed up as seen by last season. I don't want him let Antonio Allen get as many opportunities as he can
oh gosh we're in trouble lolllll as long as we spend our 1st and 2nd pick on wr or te, we def need a cb by the 3rd, if not earlier
Same here thats y i was asking lol . I really wasnt expecting Rex to use reed that much at all last season
I really hope if he does go to the G men they end up shelling out 9 mil for 4 years etc... or I'll be a bit annoyed
@DanHanzus: As @RapSheet notes, DRC already took physical with Jets. He'll take one with Giants tomorrow. #keepcalmandcarryon
Yep. Nobody knows who the #1 QB in the draft is this year and in that scenario any of them could drop to our pick if things went a certain way.
One thing stands out here. Kyle Wilson has absolutely no potential. He is actually one of the worst CBs I've seen in a while. As much as he's already been toasted, he should have been toasted so many times more. I've never seen a CB reap the benefits of overthrown deep balls (The SF '12 game comes to mind, he got burned twice for long bomb TDs but Alex Smith overthrew), and dropped passes. I have no idea what scouts ever saw in him, bc I can tell you that he is slow, stiff, small, has poor hands, and not good with his hips, or finding the ball once its thrown. Basically, he doesnt have 1 good attribute which makes a solid corner. Kyle Wilson cannot start. If he does, the opposition will attack him all day long, and it will result in huge plays, and losses for the Jets. I do think Milliner has great potential ... but he needs to show a lot more.
