Let me say again, I'm not a sanchez hater. While he's done some awful things the jets organization did him no favors. What makes him a bright spot?
I don't mind Sanchez staying if he restructures. Compare to what is out there, I think this is a good option.
He did. Just couldn't keep it. Has there been any discussions regarding the report the Raiders want Schaub or Sanchez?? I wonder if the Jets restructure Sanchez and trade him. Idk.
You're right, I guess. Sanchez did good in a few big games his first two years....thought we'd build on that.
To me the real tragedy of sanchez comes down to the fact that the jets and himself thought he was much better than he was. They pillaged the roster going into his 3rd year and assumed he could carry an offense, terrible miscalculation. he lost confidence and got exposed. I don't know if he can bounce back from that. In his 4th year he looked worse than he did as a rookie. The scary thing with sanchez is, no one has any idea if one day it's gonna click for him and he will play well, or if he's just going to fade into obscurity. Seems to be no middle ground with him.
wow what a witty retort. For someone who claims that it really isn't that important you do spend A LOT of time slamming and putting folks down. If it's really that unimportant to you just vanish, no one would miss you.
The Thing about Sanchez's 2012 season was statistically it was pretty much an average season for him, almost dead on to his career averages in nearly every category. 10+ fumbles, check. 18 or more picks, check. sub 55% completion rate, check. 17 or fewer TD's, check.
im not sure what to think about the sanchez situation anymore jets looking at any more qbs or are things all quiet on that front? honestly ive always been a fan of marks. he may have played some rough football last season he started, but there was always outside circumstances that affected his stats. im not going to say that he was ever great or anything like that, but i still dont think its time to give up on him and part of me still wants to see what he can do running martys offense
It looks like Idzik is waiting to see what ducks he has lined up at Qb before he cuts Mark. Or if there's any trade value if Mark is willing to take a big pay cut and sign an extension with his new team. Or with the Jets. It's not impossible if they need more time that they'll pay him his $2 mil bonus when it kicks in later this month. But I don't see another team giving the Jets any compensation unless a conditional draft pick probably a 6th.
Do you think the Sanchez held any of the 4 teams he has played on with the Jets from reaching their full potential and that another QB on the roster would have done better? Just curious.
And people get pissed when I bring this up but if the rest of the team had played as well as Sanchez in both championship games, the Jets would have been in back to back Super Bowls. Sanchez was the best player on the Jets in both games, only Revis might have been playing better. Sanchez was never the reason as to why we didnt reach the Super Bowl.
No I don't think he hurt them much when the offense was controlled and he success his first 2 seasons. Had rex and shotty taken a knee before the end of the half(like they should have) we probably go to the Super Bowl. Instead strip sack td. Lol only the jets. Sanchez played very well in all playoff games. Year 3 he was ok, year 4 he was brutal especially the end of the season. Year 3 I was ready to see brunell play. Year 4 they had no option.
Never give up, never give in, not to bullies. This Internet is serious business. But please don't you vanish, you need to convince every last Jet fan how bad Sanchez is. Your work is not done here. _
So you would have benched your young QB who you invested multiple draft picks and upwards $50 million dollars in year 3 of his development after 2 consecutive AFCCGs for a 41 year old who hadn't played in 5 years all for the sake of squeezing out maybe one more win out of a very flawed roster?
I really don't want Sanchez off the team from a pure football perspective. I believe we really screw him with a number of incompetent moves and directions.... read Schotty, Sparano, Tebo and the like. Having said that, I think is best for him, his future and for the Jets to find him a new home with a fresh start. He deserves a second chance. He will become a competent starter somewhere else.
You asked if he hurt the team. Year 3 he started to. Again, I don't hate sanchez and I feel he was set up to fail. Year 4 he was awful. Even if you think the world of him you can't deny that.
Because it's not true. AFC Championship game vs Pitt, Sanchez fumbled and it was returned for 7 points. Sanchez led the team to the GL and failed to score 7 points, in fact scored 0 points. Funny enough, the defense outplayed the offense in the Pitt AFC Champ game when it's all said it done. Both sides needed to play perfect that second half, defense only had one failure, the offense had two. The first half both played equally bad, although the offense could have salvaged the first half without the stupid "fumble" for 7. Schotty didn't do us any favors that game either. The first AFC Championship game, maybe it might be true. If Mark Sanchez's play only included the 2nd quarter it's definitely true. But you have to remember the Jets offense scored 0 points outside the second quarter. Feely really hurt us in the 1st half, can't blame for the 53 (around there) yarder. Also, that's if you limit it to championship games only. There's also you know the whole season around that one game, but we have all gone over that before.
If you're going to play a young QB you need to be all-in on him. Veering over to the defense for the high picks after 2009 really pre-empted any chance that Sanchez had to be a good QB.
