You're ridiculous. Idzik could have fired Rex if he wanted to. Plus, GMs only get 2 coaches; after 1 is fired the GM is put on the chopping block. Idzik wouldn't want that for himself. No one's hiding in the grassy knoll, man.
I agree with everything you posted by the issue here is, Sanders pays his agent to give him the recommended advice, Sanders has little to no experience with free agency while his agent has built a career out of it. I dont think Sanders had bad intentions but the advice he was being given was very flawed, and I cannot fault him for it. If im paying an agent, I would expect them to follow proper protocol and give me the right advice.
He had no choice, everybody was predicting the Jets to be a 2-3 win team and we won 8. He would have looked like a complete fool to fire him after that and the media would have made sure of it. Now after going 8-8 I agree he could make if very difficult for Rex to repeat that and so far (so far) he has.
I don't think you know how the whole answering a question with a question thing works....its okay...you tried.
GM's and head coaches get judged on wins. So why would the GM purposely sabotage the team? All because he'd rather have his "own guy"? I don't think any GM would care if they don't have their own guy, if the old guy is winning games.
Idzik would be in hot water if it was ever to be found that he intentionally didn't try to improve the team just so he'd have an excuse to fire Rex Ryan. If he wanted to fire him, he should have just done so. Zero chance that the reason is that.
i know that.. Im just drunk on a Sunday felt like shaking things up.. I see that wasnt a good idea .. Lol
Perhaps Idzik is calculating the average age of the remaining Free Agents. That might explain his reluctance to offer any big contracts. And rightfully so.
What does that have to do with anything regarding Idzik? If Idzik wanted his own guy he would've fired Rex it's not uncommon to see guys get fired for exceeding expectations or going .500 or better. Idzik isn't going to keep Rex and put him in a situation to fail because ultimately that will put Idzik on the hot seat himself.
If people "go nuts" if we don't take Ebron, they have nobody but themselves to blame for allowing the know-nothing media to convince them of fiction. Nobody in the media knows who we are going to draft (or even what players the team likes) - that they all have "decided" that Ebron is the player we should draft is nothing but an indictment of the hivemind media. Any fan who judges the Jet FO performance based on its decisions relative to the media-hivemind indicts themselves similarly.
The media wants the Jets to draft Ebron? Maybe I should not like Ebron anymore? I have not been reading offseason Jets articles.
I don't think he is necessarily trying to sabotage the team but I don't think he is doing Rex any favors either. We can all agree if we have a losing season Rex is probably gone and we can all agree that at this point in the offseason we are not as good as the team that went 8-8..maybe that will change and maybe it won't . We will let it play and see and then everybody can make up their own minds on why. He looked like a genius last year when we were broke and he had a good draft..this year we are filthy rich and he doesn't seem to know what to do..maybe that's the problem.
