In what aspects has this team gotten worse? Seriously? Can Milliner play up to the level that Cromartie played last year? I believe so and its not like Cromartie was even impressive Can the 2nd CB play up to the level that Milliner played last year? Umm it would be pretty sad if he wasnt able to Can the Jets decrease the amount of turnovers? Yes and Geno will be on the bench if the trend continues, so I expect it to go down Can the Jets increase the amount of yards gained? Yeah why not? Can the Jets increase the amount of touchdowns? Again yes Stop looking at it from the standpoint of whose names are on the jerseys, in a lot of aspects the Jets should improve both offensively and defensively.
His main responsibilities in Seattle were salary cap management and contract negotiations. My point was that he knows the business side of building a football team, and with this skill-set free agency should be his specialty. You have the right to doubt what he's doing, but I feel as if he deserves time before we evaluate him given that he's made a living out of doing as much as possible under a salary cap.
We have a much tougher scedule this year and our lack of weapons is SHAMEFUL.Now I suppose you'll say something like 7 starters in 7 rounds of draft ,like that's gonna happen. We will draft two starters if we are lucky
Idzik isnt a personnel type of guy, that doesn't matter though because if he brought the right scouts/advisers, he will be given good information on who to sign/draft.
I just looked at some strength of schedule articles; last year the Texans were projected to have the 5th easiest SOS, and wound up with the 2nd hardest. Anyone who brings up strength of schedule in a preseason argument about how many games a team will win has no idea what they're talking about. Things change, a lot.
Then why doesn't Idzik let Bradway do his job instead of spending all his time looking at third round college players himself?
The only way that you really get a tougher schedule from year to year is via the rotating divisional schedules. It's normal for a team that had a good record to decline slightly the following year and for a team that had a bad record to improve slightly. This is just everybody moving towards the mean and it happens predictably over large samples over the course of years. So playing teams that won more games last year isn't quite the negative factor that it appears to be and playing sadsacks isn't quite the windfall. However some divisions are more talented than others and playing 8 games each season against different opponents than last year can be a big deal in terms of schedule difficulty. Last year the Jets played the AFC North and the NFC South. Both those divisions were competitive with 3 tough outs in each division. This year the Jets play the AFC West and the NFC North. That's likely to be 5 tough outs overall between Den, KC, SD, GB and Chi. The Jets also played Oakland and Tennessee last year as the 3rd place entrant in the AFC East in 2012. They'll get Pittsburgh and Tennessee this year as the 2nd place team from 2013. All in all I think the schedule is a push at this point and could actually be favorable if KC, SD and Pittsburgh are in decline as seems possible at this point.
I highly doubt DRC leaves the Giants without a deal. If so, what do the Jets do? Bring back Cro? If he signs with the Cardinals, then what? Rex depends on CB's.
So when we go 2-14 what are you gonna say then?Idzik deserves an extension?because with 50 million in cap space and 12 picks he coulda fixed the team this season instead he didnt
rad his bio, he made his way up the ranks as a scout, even quit IBM to be a personnel guy in the NFL. he bcame a cap guy because he was the smartest guy in the room when the cap was implemented. this isn't tanny, a numbers guy who wound up on a football team, this is a football guy who happens to be good with numbers. but the talking heads labeled him a "numbers guy" so just buy into that narrative
I really hope the 2-14 comment was hyperbole. The team won 8 games last year, please explain how they got 6 games worse since the end of the season. Did Cro single handedly win 6 games? If anything he cost them games. How bout Holmes? Hardly even played, stunk it up when he did. Could our right tackle have been THAT valuable? We currently have the same football team that we did last year, the only difference is that we are mildly improved at receiver, and we aren't done yet.
While I agree it was a scumbag move, at this time it was the agent and not the player as far as we know. If Sanders knew this was going on, then he is a scumbag also. The Pats needed a a big possession receiver and he may fit the bill. Certainly not a game changer, but an upgrade to where they were at.
