On a side note, if the is Izdik being aggressive, I'd hate to see what he considers unagressive ........

Looks like the Pettigrew signing still isn't official, which has to be worrisome. Oakland is probably going to throw boats of money at him.

Maybe we'll just draft a safety in the 2nd round and put Wilson on the outside. Whatever he should be good enough for it now

But our 2010 first round pick should be counted on to step in as a 1 or 2. The fact that Wilson is a nickel at best and we have a 2nd year unproven guy doesn't make things easy. If Wilson had panned out we'd be alright with Wilson and Milliner with Walls in the nickel.

That is BS. No threat in the passing game? Even though he had a bad year last year, he still caught 41 passes. Before that he had caught something like 59, 71 and 83 passes. I love Jets fans who talk out their asses trying to sound knowledgeable and have no clue what the heck they're talking about.

He is absolutely no threat at all. Has iffy hands he's known for being a good blocker which there's nothing wrong with? Guy had 2.5 catches a game but yeah he's a threat in the passing game

Here we go with another "no threat" bullshit. Now this time with Pettigrew

Finley left Seattle without a contract, so he's still in play.

Decker will help our offense tremendously. Pettigrew will also be a major asset as a blocking tight end.

Football free agency is so different than baseball or basketball. NFL free agency is like shopping at the outlets vs. the real store.

Yeah, you might be able to get a really good bargain here and there, but the vast majority of stuff is at the outlet for a reason. It is stuff that people who had the first shot at purchasing found no desire to meet the price tag on. This is why I can't get too worked up about anything that goes on in NFL free agency - it's a market of mostly tertiary players that get treated like primary or secondary guys by the media and public because they get labels like "the best WR on the market". I think perspective is really important when it comes to the signing period in football.

Its not that hes "no threat" in my eyes, but we still don't have ANYONE that puts any type of fear into opposing D Coordinators and Pettigrew wouldn't either. That's why seeing that Jermichael Finley left seattle without a contract, if i were Idzik id be all over him rite now. I know he had a major injury but if he can come back to 90% of the form he was he would be a HUGE weapon for Geno and the passing attack. We need PLAY MAKERS and Finley was one of the best TEs in the game until he got hurt. He could definitely come back and be a great player still IMHO

This is why we need Marquise Lee, Odell Beckham, Cooks, etc in the 1st round of the draft

Anyone that thinks Pettigrew is "threat" is just clueless (guy that quoted me). He will be a good addition no doubt about it but a threat is Gronk, Graham, Ebron, ect who you have to gameplan specifically for. Pettigrew used to be a great receiving tight end then he gained 50 pounds and became a good blocking tight end. Kellen Winslow had around the same production as Pettigrew and he missed 4 games, played with a rookie QB, and didn't have Calvin Johnson taking attention away. Pettigrew is not a threat

Call me crazy but id love for us to end our WR/TE shopping in FA with a cheap flier on either Miles Austin or Kenny Britt and sign Finley. Then we can draft any one of those guys in the first n let them develop a little, instead of being automatically penciled in as the #2 WR. I really think Austin or Britt would be a smart sign to a 1 year cheap prove-it contract and the upside on either of them is HUGE and the risk will be nothing if it doesn't work out. Same goes for Finley.

Pettigrew is no Gronk or Graham. But he's solid TE that does a little bit of everything. Cumberland and Pettigrew can be a good combo at TE.
