As far as corner is concerned I think we might end up drafting Bradley roby in the second apparently they have a ton of interest in him. Lee in the first and him in the second would be two nice picks I think.
Verner just said the Jets had minimal interest in him, pretty much confirms that CB that had a deal in place with was Davis
Ravens are front runners for Steve Smith. That would put another team picking ahead of us out of the first round receiver hunt.
Brian Costello @BrianCoz 55s RT @RapSheet: #Patriots Pro Bowl DT Vince Wilfork has asked that the team release him after 10 seasons in New England, according to sources.
FWIW profootballfocus.com ranked Pettigrew 55th among TE's in run blocking and 7th in pass blocking. I never paid attention to him.
I hate to be that guy, but, with a healthy Wilfork destroying the middle, wouldnt Wilkerson and Richardson eat?
I say we give nicks that deal Carolina offering him.. Idk if he's gonna accept that cheap but if so.. We need to jump on that. Then maybe we can use our 2nd on a WR an try our hardest to do something to get Ebron in green. If all falls down at cb we can bring back Cro as planned. Our next move should then be for a RG. Get More playmakers in the draft including deanthony Thomas since Philly got sproles, some young LBs, safety, and lg to compete with winters. Then I'd be happy Btw if that offense were to come true (most likely won't) id rethink not wanting Vick .. That would be a crazy offense wit mike
Ian Rapoport @RapSheet 10m #Patriots Pro Bowl DT Vince Wilfork has asked that the team release him after 10 seasons in New England, according to sources. Ian Rapoport @RapSheet 3m No recent talks between Vince Wilfork & the #Patriots about his contract. They approached him once about a restructure, a non-starter.
That is fantastic news. Wilfork was huge for them, clogging the middle on 2nd/2rd and short downs. That another big hole for them to fill. Literally. No one will care about Revis now - just run it down their throats all game.
How about PFF ranking Pettigrew 57th (i.e. one of the worst backup tight end blockers) in the league?
We got Harrison to do that for dirt cheap, backed up by Kenrick Ellis. Wilfork would be a luxury we simply don't need. The money we would need to pay him would be better spent on a guard, corner, or offensive skill player.
I'm sure Wilfork is pissed because they asked him to restructure so they could fit Revis who he probably hated anyway.
