Yeah yeah move along, move along nothing to see here! Ok its not ask bad as I originally thought hope he can live up to it!
Mediocrity is signing solid players to good deals so that way when the team is built and peaking we have the cap flex to go get the piece to put us over the top instead of having to cut guys and let people walk (see the past 3 years) ?
5 years is a pretty steep commitment. The cost though seems fair. Plus, we need a name at WR, whether he's #1 quality or not. I like the signing, and it'll give someone for Geno to build with. Now look at another FA receiver and draft one early on. An FA CB signing is key as well. Jets female fan base just skyrocketed haha.
That's what I hear but I also said the same thing about Decker visting and got berated and cursed at and told it wasn't true, well Deckers a jet now so
I agree with you for a WR it is not an outrageous sum especially with the inflation we are seeing and we will likely see in the cap the next few years. But I would rather draft 2 WRs and develop them then sign a mediocre guy for $7 million. We could have used that $7 million to have kept Howard rather than downgrading at RT, signed a guard, signed M. Austin and possibly still had money left over for a cheap safety, RB, TE or decent roleplayer. I would rather reward our own good players then sign mediocre middle of the road players and sign solid players who that are more moderately priced.
Question Doesn't 15M guaranteed effectively means 2 years? At about 7 per the guaranted money will be paid in 2 years. Then you can cut with no penalty, no?
Decker's 27 this year and he's caught 172 balls the last two years. This is a good signing at the price. He'll probably play Z for the Jets with Kerley in the slot and X to be determined. For people determined to call him the Broncos #2, that's not inaccurate but when Demaryius Thomas hits free agency he'll be looking for and probably getting $12M a year.
Your feedback, often full of negativity and empty of substance is simply unreadable. Decker is far better than anything else we have or had or available in free agency. As for Hill we shall see if he is a bust. Non the less Decker could really help him.
