He may be very cognizant of how his legacy would appear if he plays on 3 teams in 3 years. great players don't move around like that. going back to the Jets helps with that image.

of course he would come back. Rex made him a boatload of money by hyping him up.

We were 11th in the league in sacks and had 2 guys with double digits as well as couples
what revis did in 2010 was nothing short of spectacular. he earned his cash

Yes, Rex helped him become who he is but he did not "hype him up". His play hyped him up. He's one of the best corners in NFL history. That's not just hype

    Exactly.

It didnt make sense to keep revis around at 16M when we were already overpaying cromartie, sanches, and holmes. now that 2 of the 3 are gone and likely sanchez getting cut soon as well having revis at 12-16M is much more doable

I'm sorry. this came out wrong. the hype was indeed justified, his play was spectacular. I worded it wrong.

He's the modern day dieon, a mercenary who can help a SB ready team get over the hump he just hasn't been on a team like that yet.

The Cowboys should have never traded Hershel Walker? I think history disputes that position that you should never trade your #1 talent.

Revis wasn't traded because the Jets couldn't afford $16 million because of their cap restraints at that time, he was traded because the team didn't believe he was worth $16 million, and if he still is demanding $16 million from the Jets to come back they shouldn't sign him now even though they can technically afford him because of the current amount they are under the cap (which you have to ignore the fact that the Jets still need additional players that the available cap would be better used for if we are even only talking about the $4 million difference between what is a reasonable cost for Revis of $12 mil and what he got, $16 mil).

Holmes, Sanchez and Harris have zero to do with Revis being traded. Revis is why he was traded.

    Signed with Pats

    Adam Schefter
CB Darrelle Revis and the New England Patriots have reached agreement on a one-year, $12 million deal, league sources told ESPN.

Great. But the Jets brought back Leger Douzable. Real fucking sick of this offseason already. Cant wait to see the wonderful secondary of Kyle Wilson Dee Miliner Dawan Landry and Antonio Allen. Fuck this team seriously fuck them.

Strange move by Belicheat. Pats shot most of their financial wad to, basically, maintain the status quo.
