Can you imagine the media firestorm that would be going on right now if the Jets were to give up a 1st and a 4th round pick for a 16M player rental coming off a terrible injury and then cutting him a year later, getting nothing in return?
Im pretty sure Darrelle still thinks Bill is a jerk http://espn.go.com/new-york/nfl/sto...-york-jets-stands-bill-belichick-jerk-comment
So you think he wants to get involved with a player thats held out twice and basically forced a trade? Not gonna happen.
Jones is a drop machine, with the best QB in the NFL throwing to him ------------------------- We already have one of those in Hill.
I hope we don't overpay Decker. there doesn't seem to be a market for him. Detroit met with him I believe, but ended up signing Tate. I doubt he can go back to Denver with all the cash they spent.
Lets lock up decker and james jones! Decker-jones-kerly-nelson- either ebron or 1st round wr? Very nice wr core for geno
Did you happen to see who the bucs landed so far (because they now don't have to pay a fucking corner 16M!)? As good as Revis once was in this scheme, he isn't worth a penny more than 11 ( the market dictates this btw, just like it did when al Davis paid ASO). This isn't basketball where 2-3 big name players make or break your season. This is the ultimate team sport and if #24 wants to be a teammate for once in his life then we may sign him. If not, peace out bro and enjoy being on a shitty team and making 15-20% of the cap.
Regarding Revis: I'm totally confident Izdik won't break the bank for Revis. We'll probably talk to him, but Izdik will have his line and won't budge. It will be a take it or leave it situation for Revis.
Wasn't it reported, at some point (can't remember when, but during the Revis drama), that Woody Johnson was at odds with Revis and it became kind of personal? I could be wrong, but I thought I remember reading that. And if that's the case, then welcoming back Revis probably isn't decided by Idzik.
We have a need at CB right now, it would really be interesting if Idzik did go through with this and resigned Revis.
I'd rather sign multiple weapons for Offense, add some depth (maybe even a starter) on the OL, AND sign some DB depth. If only one of the above can be accomplished with the signing of Revis, then I don't think he's worth it for THIS team.
Yes, i expect geno to put up similar numbers to what tebow projected to put up in 16 games(he didnt start the year as a starter in denver) tate got overpaid. if decker also wants to get overpaid i want no part of him
NE has 15 mill in cap space I think, 7 mill of that should be reserved for the draft and extra in season cash on hand, unless they cut Wilfork (which brings in a whole new set of problems for them) I think they're out of the race, unless they think Revis will take less than 10 mil for the privilege of playing under a man he considered a jerk.
