Yeah, hence the additional targets too. It's a fluid process. Upgrade everywhere, even small ones, will upgrade the offense largely.
I dont think so. BUT that also depends on what we put with him! I like Kerley in the slot but we need to draft a stud WR that can step in day 1. Luckily this draft is mad deep at WR so i like our chances and think if we can add Evans/Cooks/Benjamin/Beckham with Decker and Kerley that has the makings of a nice core.
Signing Decker and Jones would be a massive win this offseason. Draft a young'n, call it a day with the receiving corps.
The Broncos have screwed the future with that Ware contract, year 1 it might be worth the value but year 2 and 3 it won't. It appears this might be Peyton's final season.
Decker is very underrated. He had a great year, with one of the worst passing Quarterbacks ever, Tim Tebow. He is a solid Route runner, its sad to say but he gets overlooked, because he is white. I'd be happy with a contract paying him between 7-9 million
Depends on what the cap hit and how the salary overall looks like. 10 mil would be a bit too much just as a whole number, but there are a ton of ways the Jets could still have a workable contract for them at 10. I would rather Decker at 7-8 if we are just doing whole numbers Oh and most likely yeah except TDs. Kerely has 6 or 7 total TDs in his career. Decker had 8 in 2011
Decker had 600 yards with Tebow at the helm, Tebow that year only threw for over 200 yards 1 time and even had a game where he only completed TWO passes. Before Tebow took over he was putting up very good numbers with Kyle Orton well on his way to a 1000 yard season in only his 2nd year in the league. Decker is a damn good football player and he scores touchdowns.
Look how many weapons Peyton had on that team. He spreads the ball around, and Decker started to build chemistry with Peyton towards the end of the year.
Dude what are you trying to say? That Decker isn't a good player? Do you see what WE have? We have a dog shit receiving unit, a laughing stock and now where trying to get a better player who's better then what we have whether he's a 1 or 2 and people gotta bitch. An yes 600 yards and 8 td's with Tim Tebow is great.
Manish Mehta @MMehtaNYDN 6m Source: Jets have expressed a real interest in Packers free-agent WR James Jones. No visit scheduled yet. Eric Decker in building today #nyj Justin McCairens/Matthew Hatchette come on down! As much as I think Decker can be overpaid we also have a history of signing role player receivers expecting them to do better when they come here and are given an increased role and then they don't.
I like to hear that.. Possibly sign them both, or if Decker too pricey, have a backup plan in Jones. I think Jones might provide the most value for the dollar amongst the FA WR's.
Generally speaking 600 yds and 8 TDs is not a great year. But in context with the QB play he got that year, it was a great year for DEN. Granted the whole thing started that Decekr supposedly did nothing before Manning, which isn't true.
