Actually, you could kind of use that statement to describe the entire Seattle team save for maybe Wilson...
You don't get any bonus points for leaving $30M in your cap room. Actually you get penalized. Tannenbaum's problems were bloating the wrong contracts and trading up for the wrong players too often. Also not getting rid of Schottenheimer despite Woody's obvious proclivity towards him was a critical mistake. Idzik seems to have an improved understanding of player evaluation but now it looks like he's too cheap and passive. Drafting 3 straight nobodies at guard instead of using one of those picks to trade up a few slots for Warford also appeared to be a critical error in that same vein at the time and looks even worse now. Being prudent and conservative can and does work but only up to a certain point then it's a flaw.
True but I don't think this is the same as last time ... I don't think we bring him back at a cheaper rate ... Remember we also supposedly have the hots from bradley roby in the draft ... Something to keep an eye even though I would personally hate that pick at 18
McCown is not a backup. He was on Mike and Mike the other day, he's not going anywhere to hold a clip board. He wants to start. If he wanted to be a backup he had the perfect spot in Chicago where he was adored and his wife likes living. _
I agree. Although I'm not completely sold on Decker, either. I like his size and if he's not too overpriced, I'd love him on our team. We need a big receiver, 6'3"+, not another 5'9"-5'10" guy.
@RCummingsTBO: Bucs have moved press conference for free agents from 3 p.m. to 4:30. One reason why: chances of actually trading Revis are increasing

You are correct my man...but I what I am hoping for is he is prudent with FA and uses some of that $30+ Million to lock up our own guys as well. Time will tell.
Playing in a dome with that QB flinging the ball around and Calvin Johnson drawing triple teams? Tate will have a monster year. _
Oh so the Jets automatically make the playoffs next year and don't need to worry about the regular season band making the playoffs? Decker for around 7-8 million I see a great move for the Jets. He upgrades the WR talent and I don't envision the Jets stopping adding to the WR position by just adding Decker. Even if Decker is the only move, the failure isn't Decker, but the strategy for the Jets in not improving the WR position elsewhere
People need to start coming to grips with the fact we will not be bringing Revis back. We will sign a CB before free agency is over but it will be a mid/low level guy who plays his best football in man coverage. derrick cox/chris cook would be corners i expect to hear us associated with in a day or two
FTR, I'd be okay with either Decker or Tate. I was talking-up Tate earlier in the season with the hopes we'd snag him now; I really like his big-play ability (YAC), especially for this Offensive system. But I do like Decker's character and size, among his other good on-field qualities.
Jason La Canfora @JasonLaCanfora 3m Bucs delayed time of their free agent press conference - pushing to add Josh McCown and Anthony Collins to their haul. Very good chance
I would be happy with Tate over Decker at 8 mil per year... I'm 100 % convinced that Decker is a product of the QB in Denver. Add Owen Daniels at TE and a WR and TE in the draft and I'll be happy.
I agree we draft a corner but it will be round 3 or later. I dont believe Idzik is going into the draft with Milliner or Wilson slotted as our number one corner. There will be some sort of "vet" corner brought in pre draft.
