Agreed, i think anytime you can upgrade ur squad and have the cap space to do it we should! Overpayments happen all the time in the FA market its how it works! I don't see why people are up in arms about paying a guy 1-1.5M more than his value if he's going to give us a legit upgrade.

Signing Revis in general guarantees at least one holdout during the life of the contract.

Well...you are getting the gist...I'm too busy to do too much....Miles Austin is making $9/per adjusted. The second number is the adjusted per year...and that is the top 10. Hartline is making just under $7mil/per. There you go...Charlie put up the link.

great idea. Erik Decker has proven he can beat coverage. Time and time again he's open.

Last time the Jets agreed to something like this, they got burned. Nobody in the NFL with any sense is gonna frontload a contract with Revis.

It really can't, the best players are already gone it's already game over. Asamoah would've been an awesome fit especially @ 4.5M/yr. There's going to be $20-30M left in the cap when this is over guaranteed it's just fucked.

None of the WRs or TEs are gone yet. You know our 2 greatest needs. Because you know we had the worst offense in the league last year. Everyone complains Rex only cares about Defense and when we dont target every D FA you whine about it.

Apparantly CLE tried to trade for Revis but he wouldn't accept a pay cut.

That has been an interesting development...WR's and TE's are really getting minimal "love" early in FA. Really does tell you all you need to know about the talent level of the supposed "top" FA. Who knows...maybe Idzik is a better gambler than we all realize and will have Decker in and sit on a few more days to see if the price tag doesn't come down...and/or go an entirely different direction 3 days from now.

I know it's frustrating for the fans but...after the last couple of decades...I'd ALMOST rather play the "game" and spend prudently on people who will help the team be good and draft who will help us become GREAT!

The only want Decker if we can get him for the right $$. He's not someone worth overpaying for.

I like the contract Revis currently has..a series of 1 year deals (although 16M is too much). If you don't want him back year to year you can just cut him and it costs you nothing and he can be on his way. It is perfect for a team that doesn't trade to get him.

WR and TE are certainly huge needs. At this point, i think CB and RT are even more important needs.
i hope we find quality starters at all 4 positions in FA.

What the fuck are you talking about. There happened to be one outstanding and one premium safety available, they both would've been great fits in their own way when you factor money and made the defense infinitely better. One of them signed a ridiculously cheap contract besides. Ward could've been signed along with the most expensive WR (Decker) or anybody else, Asamoah brought in and there still would've been like $10M left over after extending Wilkerson and bringing in a couple bottom tier FAs. There are no premier WRs or TEs available. There are a bunch of roleplayers, the one Idzik is interested in enough to fly him out is going to be the most overpaid and there's no guarantee any of them even get brought in. At best he signs whatever WR/TE/RTs are left which will bring this from a disaster into merely a shitty Free Agency.

Why should he? This way he gets to choose what team he goes to rather then be dumped in a place like Cleveland.
