There weren't fans asking for Matt Simms last season? Didn't we see Matt Simms in action last year? What makes you think this year would be any different?

True they were asking for Simms but this was after weeks upon weeks of bad play. If Geno has a string of average/decent games then he has a stinker, we don't need "time to start Sanchez" stories.

It's the NY media, those stories will pop up at the first sign of trouble even if Ryan leaf was the backup Qb.

What makes anyone think Mike Vick would not beat out Geno? If you bring in a Michael Vick you are bringing him in to start. The only way he does not is injury or Geno makes a big step up.

The best thing for Geno is to bring back Sanchez or a scrub Backup like DG. If the Jets are sold on Geno being the long term answer for the NYJ they don't bring in a Vet at all they ride with Simms as the backup. The thing is nobody in the NYJ organization seem to think Geno is the answer but that does not mean Sanchez is.

if they don't think geno is the longterm answer or if they think he needs to watch from the bench then bringing in Vick makes some sense.

Agreed , bring in Vick give Geno a chance to develop does make sense. You know with Vick Geno will at least get a few starts.

The best option if you think Geno will be the guy in 2014 is to bring back Sanchez. He has always been a solid team first guy, good teammate, never through anyone under the bus. He would be a legit option to compete with geno without having the bighead and drama that a Vick or Schaub would bring. Aging veterans on the decline who think they can still start causes more problems than they are worth. Sanchez provides competition and if he loses is a capable backup option. Plus if they re-work his deal they would probably end up saving money compared to what it would cost to bring in Vick or Schaub.

    Sanchez causes qb controversy?
    Vick, and Schaub won't?

Heck last year when we resigned old broken knees Gerrard ppl were asking for him to play.

It's NY their will be controversy!

And how are people forgetting...Tim Tebow?

All I remember is folks here saying if Sanchez can't handle the pressure of having Tebow as his back-up, you don't want him as your QB.

Well, if Geno can't handle having the worst QB in the history of the NFL as his backup, well then...D'OH!

And how many people thought it was a good idea to bring Tebow in? They far outweighed folks who felt like Sanchez should play despite Tebow being around.

It was a good idea because the QB starting was terrible, however the HC had a major boner for Mark.

No it wasn't, Tebow sucked and all he did was create an unnecessary distraction. As bad as Sanchez was in 2012 Tebow was worse. Rex made the right decision not playing him.

Here's the source of that "article". Sanchez wasn't blasting anyone, He wasn't harping over it, He wasn't calling anyone out. He said he was "disappointed" and confidently stated that in his eyes he won the competition. I don't think there's anything wrong with that. The start of the sentence is "He's eager to be there for Geno".

Give it a rest. Of all things, By ALL accounts, Sanchez is a solid teammate, and always has been. There were points through the season you saw Mark taking notes and talking through plays with Geno. You think that's putting on an act for the camera's that caught them 1 out of 100 times because they'd rather pollute everything with "Sanchez and Geno Rift" bullshit.

    The really funny part about this. Reading all the articles coming out of "Jets interested in <Insert Journeyman DOneVeryLittle QB Here>" articles and posts here;

I'm 100% positive that if the situation was reversed, and Sanchez was coming out of another team being injured and usurped by a rookie after going to 2 AFCG and having 1 losing season, We'd have a 60,000 page thread about why we should "Sign This BEAST".

People refuse to look at this subjectively, Hopefully Idzik can and won't toss Sanchez out for no reason. It will 100% come down to $ and how much of a pay cut Sanchez is willing to take to compete with Geno.

there will ALWAYS be someone calling out for the next guy, no matter how good he is. there are people in new england talking about how they need to move on from brady. thats how it goes as a fan of an nfl team. i dont give a shit who is behind who. there will be someone calling for the backup at some point in the year. there were people who hated geno before the year started and when he didnt play well of course they called for the backup.

there are fans who still think ratliff could have been good, or mcelroni

You are replying to the multi-previously banned poster SG3, Mitch Dumstein, ProudJetFan who is just a dick and is a total Jet homer until the Jet becomes an ex Jet or is a soon to be ex Jet. He used to love Sanchez and now hates Sanchez more than Saddaam Hussein. Once Rex is gone he'll hate him more than Gaddafi. He's just an total trolling dick, he's been permabanned on JI and every other site he's joined under multiple usernames.

Don't waste your time. The only "lady" part for this guy is he sports a vagina. His IP address will be sorted out soon.

He is a 3 time previously permabanned poster. You'll see once he really gets back into his schtick.
