You seem to want something that doesn't exist in their world. These guys aren't fans, they are players, this is a job and they don't care about making fans all warm and fuzzy with quotes and interviews ESPECIALLY in the offseason. Besides, just as conspicuous is the absence of quotes and interviews about Geno or Sims or Kerley or Holmes or Cromartie or Pace or any of them. Doesn't mean a lack of support, it means they just don't give a crap about soundbytes in the offseason. Not an issue for them now. It's an issue for FANS because they are dying to see this guy out of here--but what is an issue for fans isn't necessarily an issue for players. _
Do you really mean to tell us that you've never seen players talk about how much they appreciate what their teammates bring to the organization? They also talk about how a guy can't get the job done, but usually only after he's gone. The issue for everyone is winning games.
Of course I have--but it's usually in preseason or in season or just after the season or as I said and you agreed, after he's gone. I just don't think it's as big of a deal as you do in this offseason that there aren't daily quotes from Jets players about other Jet players. You were looking for concrete evidence about someone's confidence in another player. You can't just call that stuff up on demand or give it negative credence if it isn't happening at the frequency with which you would like. _
Players talk about stuff that is topical to THEM. Cro talked about weed, Richardson talked about gay football players. Sanchez and confidence is an issue for YOU, not for any of the players--at least not much of an issue that they need to be making any interviews about it now. They care a lot less in the offseason about someone's confidence than fans do. _
Perhaps I didn't ask the right question. I'm not talking about what we've seen in the past five weeks, but what we've seen in the past five years. Confidence in Sanchez, I believe, is a huge issue for the fans, the staff and the team. You can't just wish that issue away.
Well sure judging though your eyes, of course we've heard nothing because you didn't want to hear anything. Plenty of confidence through 2009-2010 and even in 2011, but of course you probably didn't hear it. Saying there was no confidence in Sanchez's play last year is a bit silly, no? But fans confidence in a player? LOL. Love to debate further, but the GF will be here soon, the champagne is chilled and my buerre blanc sauce is almost reduced for the sea scallops in puff pastry cups. _
Perhaps if I was a dilettante too, I would have discerned all that positive confidence displayed by the fellow sportsmen of Mr. Sanchez. In his mind it exists simply because I didn't see it; too bad he didn't cite it. Can I keep you tied up long enough here to burn your beurre blanc?
Last year before training camp you were guaranteeing that Sanchez would (i) never play for the Jets again, (ii) would be cut in training camp, (iii) would never wear a Jet jersey again, (iv) would never play in the NFL again, (v) would be immediately put on permanent IR the day after he was injured and (vi) would be put on permanent IR before the first regular season game. Just saying. _
He was guaranteeing this last June, July and August. Never even getting out of training camp. No preseason games. Nothing. Ever again. _
Damnit. I thought because we had 2 days off this topic with the forum shut down, this would have been pushed into the trash can. Just continue right where it was left off. Lmao
Ill probably follow Sanchez just as much as I do the Jets. I will try to watch every game he plays for the rest of his career.
new format, heyyyyyy.... I was completely on the side of people saying it was ridiculous that he wouldn't be on staff come autumn. but that was last year, this year it makes no sense from both parties for him to be here, he shouldn't want to be a bridge player for us at all, he'll just be replaced one way or another. Sanchez is the past, Smith is the future if he progresses right. no need for ghosts in camp.
