I shook the snow off them last night, and again this morning.

They look injured and droopy, but no branches broke and nothing snapped.

Hopefully, the sun today revived them, but I do need to tie them together somehow.

New Big Problem here. Ice Dams on my roof. Clogged all my gutters and now with the thaw, I have overflow. I cleared two gutters and draining has begun. I really need a thaw as I have a 2 story home and I can't reach the upper gutters because I can't plant the extension ladder.

Any suggestions as to how to deal with this would be greatly appeciated. I would advise everybody to clear their downspouts so the water has someplace to drain.

I hate those things. One of my friends took the all off his house.

Can you reach up high enough to pull the leaders away from the gutters?

If you can't, it would help to get your downspout as warm as possible, as high up as possible.

Something like this should do the job.

If you can possibly wrap them with heat tape, maybe you can get the ice melted enough to get some flow going.

Cman, is rhere any way that you can get an extension pole up there, somehow get some rock salt into the gutter?

I have a 20 ft pole that I got from Home Depot. It's for reaching cathedral ceilings.

If you have something like that, or a pruner pole, you could tie an old sock on it, filled with salt, and drop it into the gutter.

I think I saw MacGyver do that once.

You might even be able to lob some salt socks into the gutter, just tossing the from the ground.

I saw a guy fill pantyhose/stockings with rock salt and put it over the ice dams on TV, this shows how, but it looks like just pouring it on may work just as well, but you'll need a ladder.

Jay already mentioned about tomorrow. He said 2 to 4 and maybe even 5.

Cablevision Weather Channel NJ12 says 1-3 for NJ and maybe 4 for Connecticut side.

CBG...come on my bud!...I never miss a day of updates..well...almost..lol..here is the update from this morning..but Im checking to make sure that its correct.

I read through all the posts real quick and I think the only question was about the summer? Man..I havent looked at all at that stuff..its intense reading of several long..LONG range stuff. Will do it in the next couple weeks but the theory has always been cold breeds cold. I would guess slightly below normal but after this winter? Anything over 70 would be...I cant even think of the proper adjective.

Let me check on Saturday and Tuesday...brb.

MAN...CMAN better hope the GFS is wrong..which it has been lately because it has near 8 inches for him tomorrow.

Im going to post the GFS model but lets not get to excited either way..its doesnt have much backing until you get to MASS...GFS wants to strengthen the storm faster which gives down here more snow.

GFS...BUYER BEWARE..I LIKE IT FROM MASS UP...but really not sure about numbers in PA,NJ AND CONN.

OH..AND FJF AND CBG..not sure if this is going to happen. Let me check the Euro...I know the NAM isnt biting.

Nah..doubt it FJF..again..until it gets to Conn coast..I dont think its a huge deal here...then again...an inch might drive me to drink because I have no idea where to put it.

Now with this said....this storm, unlike the last storm goes West to East. More common with earlier storms but not the strength until it gets over the Atlantic and bombs out as it heads up the the cape and Maine.

Still think this thing can put down 2 to 4...and Im leaning towards the higher end for many. Want to even say 3 to 5....so lets go with 3 to 5. Its showing enough on each model except the NAM for our areas so lets blend them and go with 3 to 5 for tomorrow for everyone....with areas of maybe 6 where some banding sets up.

Now checking the Tuesday storm...this morning it was a stronger storm than this...but changed to rain after dumping 4 to 6....lets see.

I really hope we get nothing. After yesterday and today I think we all need a break from shoveling. Get me to Spring enough of this Winter shit.

Tuesday storm looks like a 4 to 6 event for many...starts Midnight Monday...ends around noon on Tuesday.

Warms up nicely after that with highs upper 40s for 4 or 5 straight days..maybe low 50s later in that period before temps come back to normal.

Saw a model long range model with a huge storm for the 24th...the setup is interesting...very...and hopefully, we just save it for next year.
