I don't see Embiid coming out this year - but that kid oozes talent and potential. They are comparing him to Duncan / Olajuwon. BUT he could become the next Hasheem Thabeet. Another high ceiling, low floor guy. Depends on what team he goes to and his work ethic.
Its really not that big of a deal. Most NBA fans have little to no knowledge on international players. They get little to no coverage here in the states. Around the draft Exum will get more coverage, he is that good. Most have him ranked #5 but he will be better than the college stars imo.
I gotta admit, I originally though Lebron was heading back to Cleveland, it is not looking good imo. Ima still stick with it, but the odds are decreasing. If Cleveland ends up with a top 5 draft pick that can all change real quickly though.
Lakers are missing Farmar, Nash, Kobe, Gasol, Meeks, Xavier Henry, and Nick Young. Back to playing street guys I guess. The scrubs get showcased tonight against OKC. I think there's a good chance he comes out. He would go top 3. http://www.cbssports.com/nba/eye-on-basketball/24441733/bucks-would-take-joel-embiid-no-1 The Bucks have the worst record in basketball, which doesn't guarantee the top pick. But if the ping pong balls dropped in place, they'd lean towards Kansas center Joel Embiid, according to ESPN.com
Nets game started at 8 on the dot Nets/Bulls 24-26 vs. 26-25 then in the nightcap we have the 18-34 Lakers
A shame, I was rooting for the Lakers to pull off the enormous upset. So close, and with a bunch of bums. Pretty rough for Mason Plumlee and Steven Adams. They play Thursday night and there's zero break. They have to fly from Chicago and Los Angeles to New Orleans to immediately play again on Friday night. No break. I think they shouldn't have games on Thursday the week before the ASG.
Not sure what you mean. That it's less taxing to play in the game because they don't have to play defense?
Yeah I meant to type resembles not remembers. It's not like they need to go 100% for 48 minutes, the game is for fun and typically the rising stars game takes it a little less seriously than the AS game. Overall though, agree there shouldn't be a Thursday night game. If there has to be one, schedule it in home team arena so there is no travel for the players. Although I'm not sure if that would create a problem in prepping the arena. So yeah, no Thursday games, give them an extra day rest
The 3 point contest is finally here!! It's my favorite NBA event, even more than the draft, All-Star game, and Slam Dunk Contest.
Wade sat out the last two games with a "migraine" and then a "foot" injury. But he says he's starting the ASG. I would say it's to cheap shot Kobe, but Kobe is out. dunk and ASG betting: http://forums.theganggreen.com/showthread.php?t=80282 http://forums.theganggreen.com/showthread.php?t=80281
Hopefully the NBA learned, it was never the format, it was the participants. Get good dunkers, get good dunks. There was no need for only 3 solo round dunks. Part of the dunk contest greatness is the hype leading into a dunk and following it. I could live with the freestyle because it led to some cool dunks, if the solo rounds were extended to best of 7 or 11 or something longer than 3
I don't know if that's considered music, but whatever performance they had before the game was indescribably awful.
Absolutely loved the pregame. The entire weekend has been catered to the younger fan/generation. I thought the national anthem was putrid though.
So far the NBA all star weekend has been garbage. The slam dunk contest was an incredible failure. Pregame lip synch crap was awful. National Anthem...shame on the NBA.
