just checked the radar for your county, JWWS..lock in bud..this band is going to just sit and dump heavy snow for a few hours it seems..wow..that is over 2 inches an hours stuff.
BTW, that pool salt really isn't doing that great of a job. I'm just glad I had enough regular salt mixed in to perhaps make a difference when I start up Big A.
The only thing for the nyc nj lower hudson valley and Conn area that is keeping this storm from being the biggest of all time is the changeover period because when the second band comes tonight...if this was all snow, the numbers would be huge. Now someone might ask well what about the areas that stay all snow well north and west? Not so sure, because the heaviest precip banding right now is setting up where many will turn to sleet and freezing rain for a period.

Salting first feels like a mistake. It melted some snow, but just couldn't keep up. That means some wet melted heavy snow at the bottom of all the snow I'm shoveling.
4 hours of snow and about 3" fresh powder on the ground. nice and powdery(sp) right now. and visibility is getting pretty low. glad you made it home brook,
jay- What are the chances of a state of emergency being declared in NJ on Friday? I'd love to have a 5-day weekend.
holy fuck Jay. over perform was right. at least 10" here in 07940 right now and it's still coming in hot.
only about 4 inches on ground by me so far but it is coming down fast and furious. Jay, apparently overnight tonight, Im gonna get another 8 or 9 inches? wtf? I don't wanna have a closed casket for my funeral so if I put a shit gun up my asshole and pull the trigger, will it kill me?
I just measured 10+ inches of new snow in Randolph NJ - Morris County, and its coming down harder than ever. TWC says we got 6 inches, but that is off by quite a bit.Visibility is less than 100 yards. The good news is that it does not appear to be heavy and it is not sticking to the trees.
