just saw news 12 weather map of 8 to 12 +...comical...before 6am...tomorrow. Heres what I think will happen. Many areas in north jersey at least will get close to the 8 to 10 before it changes to sleet...then another 3 to 6 tonight. Some areas where the changeover to sleet is minimal will get 18 to 22.

Hey Jay ... long time listener, first time caller. This thread convinced me to finally register. Just made the drive from Clifton to Nutley to Paramus, roads are ridiculous. Plows are doing what they can but fighting an uphill battle. Stay off the roads if you can today.
Blizzard criteria needs to be met for 3 straight hours with winds...visibility etc...and the only thing I can guess is the NWS is being real technical about it..because right now? This is near if not blizzard conditions by me. Heading north. GD..saw you got over 5 inches on the coast before the changeover..that was high for you guys.
ROUND 1 goes to CBG,,,,,10 -9 got the dog to go out,,,grudgingly but she went rite under my deck ! Round 2 and so on will be rough as the Dog gets tougher in the later rounds ! She hates this ,,I think more than Jonny,,,,if that is possible :lol:

Western Suffolk LI checking in. At least 3" on the ground if not more. Just finished round 1 of shoveling. It was covered thoroughly by the time I was done. School is closed at least. Can I ask a favor? When you post, tell where you are and the conditions. That would be cool.
Checking radar CBG..if you are not in the real heavy stuff..you are less than a half hour away...and you will know when you are.

Jay, CBG I made it home safely yesterday thanks to GordonGecko. Thanks for your concerns. It was snowing very hard in Madison(Morris County) but now it eased up a little bit. Schools are closed but not sure how they will clean all the roads, as the roadsides are already like small hills. A tough 2-3 days ahead of us I guess. CBG Let me know the later rounds with your dog? Jay You are becoming a pop star now. Folks at work are asking me constant updates from you.

Let me pull some short term models. And since some of us are here..remember TWO SHOT STORM. If you are getting lets say 14 inches...you might get 9 or 10 today...and 4 or 5 tonight...with sleet/freezing rain in the middle. I should just put that in my sig because I know we will repeat that 20 times today.

Thanks man. Had to make an appearance at work. Hoping to leave here very shortly and head back home (slowly) to Clifton. Clifton had 2-3 inches before 8am. Nutley had closer to 4. Paramus now at 4+ and increasing quickly.
I will say this..unless this changes to sleet for all north jersey and nyc and western L.I. and conn...well..a bit later for CONN...but unless this changes to sleet in the next 3 hours...near 12 during the day..and then the back end snow tonight..these are going to be huge numbers. GET THE SNOW UP WHEN IT TURNS TO SLEET..or its not coming up for days.
southern nassau... lots of snow right now. went running this morning and there was probably about an inch when i started and probably over 2 when i finished. the plows were out so i couldnt even run in the street a lot of the time. tough run this morning. the dog loved it though. shes a husky so i always feel bad if i dont take her out in the snow, plus she needs to run a few miles every day anyway or she gets hyper at night. what happened to just 2-3 inches and then rain? that was at 630 in the morning before it got too bad, its snowing harder now, about to start shoveling soon
looking at the radar..double cliftons numbers now...add 2 to nutley. Bud, get out of there. Really. If you worked for me there would be a few hundred in your pay today juts for getting there. Then again, Im very generous when I really do not have to do it.
Steve, GD who lives down the shore said it best this morning..he got over 5 before the changeover..this front end thump will double predictions at LEAST for you before the changeover..then you might get more tonight..you guys are on the bubble tonight. L.I. and NYC were on the bubble..and those numbers for all people predicting are going to bust in a big way..even though you should turnover in 2 or 3 hours..probably 2.
