His 2011 is really hard to judge. I still blame the Giants game at the end of the year more on Schotty than Sanchez. He had Sanchez dropping back 60+ times to throw. That was never going to be how the Jets were gonna win a game. Especially since the majority of the 3rd Q we were down 3 points and abandoned the run.

But yeah, overall 2011 is very inconsistent which was always the theme of Sanchez. The Jets thought Sanchez had progressed further than he actually had, and Sanchez himself struggled with the added responsibility.

Developing a QB is tough. The Jets didn't help Sanchez much towards the end and he regressed. Not every QB pans out. Granted, Sanchez didn't do much to help his cause either.

At least we got to see some AFC Championship games out of it. It was a good two years, time to move on.

we were in situations where we had to throw, we had so many penalties and negative plays. That game and that season changed on the Cruz TD.

his #s were really good until those last 3 games but he wasn't anywhere near as good as 2010 which was disappointing. He didn't have 2010 talent but he had a lot more than 2012, he had enough to get us to the playoffs and he and the team failed late.

You can hate Sanchez all you want and think he should not start or be a starter. What I am asking is who is better that you would bring in? Did Geno do enough last season to be handed the job?

Does not matter the excuses the OC, weapons whatever. Sanchez has a year in this offense learning it and if Geno sucks balls next season we need a someone that can step in.

I love the Sanchez haters he was coddled etc etc but now want him gone because he might actually be better than Geno? where is the logic except I hate Sanchez?

I want Sanchez gone if and when we have a better alternative. Geno had the worst stretch I have ever witnessed from a professional QB last season. If that happens again or Geno sucks in minicamp and preseason we need a QB that can play and know the offense.

I am sure you think that hit he took in the Denver game excused his play the rest of the season. I don't. It also ignores a total stinker like the Ravens game. He played the whole season, and in terms of stats was significantly below average. For starters that year, taking out rookies, and that is fair since it was quite fair to expect more of a third year Qb than rookies, the kinds of players who had similar stats did not continue as NFL starters. These include Josh Freeman (who in fact was comparable to MS), Rex Grossman, Tavaris Jackson and Kevin Kolb. That group is mediocre, not average.

Maybe as a Sanchez Fan you perceive the mediocre to be average. I've kind of thought that about Sanchez Fans for some time now.

LOL. Nobody can, there are just folks on the internet that are delusional enough to actually think they can.

    It's called narcissistic personality disorder.

    Ok fine.

You want him gone for any number of reasons--some real, some imagined.

You've thrown out half a dozen reasons why you want him gone--but in actuality you just...plain...want...him...gone.

    By any means possible.

You'd just be better off saying "buttfumble" rather than trot our your contorted list of reasons why.

It's okay to want him gone. Just don't try to rationalize it in a reasoned discussion.

I was very happy overall with Gino considering thrown to the wolves with a new offense and lack of weapons. We need a veteran QB to compete with him and have a capable backup regardless of who starts. I am not renewing my season tickets until I see that the Jets cut Sanchez. I could not take seeing that man in a Jet uniform and I don't wish he anything but happiness SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!!!!!

It's not as if the Jet FO threw Sanchez to the dogs in 2011. For example I don't recall many Jet fans predicting the eventual record before the season began. Despite being a playoff team the year before, the strength of schedule was weak. Both Buffalo and Miami were weak teams that year. The only really tough game on the schedule other than the two NE games looked to be the Baltimore game (which it was). Yet the Jets proceeded to lose 8 games that year. Not good.

And of course Mark's big supporters were predicting exactly that he would step up. How easy we forget. But soon the predictions of greatness were replaced by the constant excuses, never ending complaints about Schotty, new ones about the OL, and on and on.

No, I don't think the hit in Denver was the reason he played like crap to end the season. I believe it was a string of hits - starting from the Ravens game, Mangold did not play in that game.

A QB doesn't have a bad year if he scores 32 touchdowns, again he was average. Freeman, Grossman, Jackson, or Kolb never scored that many touchdowns for their respective teams. Mark at one point was progressing just fine, but took a HUGE regression at some point from the Denver game on, that regression continued throughout the 2012 season. He is now the crappy QB we see now.

Maybe as a Kyle Orton fan your ability evaluate talent, and situational issues are below average at best.

You know what Blocker, your mindset seems to remind me of this guy:

Speaking of Schottenheimer's great scripts, I believe he has the distinction of having 2 double digit streaks of consecutive games in which his teams failed to score a TD in the 1st quarter. That's with 2 different teams mind you. That doesn't even include numerous other similar but smaller streaks of 5, 6, 7...etc.). That's some Schitty streaks for ass, pun intended.

I still think that Raven's game was the game that destroyed his confidence. He won a few games after that, but that game he just got blasted.
