Watched it 1000x and I remember it vividly. You guys have your lens with the hate filter fully engaged when you watch it. _
Keeping him will create a distraction. Sanchez had his chance to compete last year, so I don't see how a guy coming off a shoulder injury is gonna beat out Geno when he couldn't do it last year. Geno needs all the reps he can get, we just need a viable vet QB that can run the offense if needed.
If Sanchez didn't get injured do you honestly think Geno was the opening day QB? I mean really...Sanchez won the QB competition last summer and it wasn't even close.
I think the bolded part refers back to when I had my real break with the Sanchez Fans. Like I said at the time I never thought Schotty was an above average OC, but I did just could not see with my own eyes that he was the overall negative on Sanchez that the Sanchez Fans constantly complained about. It seemed much more to me that Sanchez's limitations required Schotty to change up the O and limit it. And of course the other thing back then was how much Ryan and Tanny supported Schotty, bringing him back year after year. Those two guys were Muck's biggest supporters on the Jets, so how did it fit that they would be, consciously?, hindering Muck by making him work with Schotty? I suppose one possible answer would be that they did not know what they were doing. I can certainly see that argument. But I would also remind the Schotty Haters that when he left the Jets he was hired by Jeff Fisher, who imo is an above average HC. With the Rams Schotty imo has had mixed results, but you can't see he's been an out and out failure. Instead I saw the Schotty Haters as just part of the overall Sanchez Fan approach of blaming everyone but Muck for his mediocre play. For some the critical breakpoint, and I would say where a majority of Jet fans first coalesced to agree on a basic skepticism toward Sanchez, was the off season following the 2011 season. That three game skid at the end, followed by the Tebow nonsense, Tanny giving Muck the ridiculous extension, was a historical moment that amounted to a tectonic shift in opinions. But I think Muck lost me early in the 2011 season. It was evident to me that in his third season he was not improving, or at least not improving enough to support the view that he would become a dependable Qb. It wasn't only the excuse making, but yeah, for me that kind of put me off the Sanchez Fans, and by extension made me skeptical he would ever become adequate.
I don't know that it wasn't close, but yes it was certainly as clear as it could get in a situation like that that Sanchez was going to start on Opening Day.
I think Sanchez would've started. And that's only because Geno hurt his ankle and neither guy separating themselves. Sanchez was in his 5th year he needed to show that he was clearly the best option and he couldn't separate himself from Geno.
ah i see, so when the opposing defenses are all running the same looks and absolutely destroying the offense on every first drive (that was the only thing scripted and rehearsed in practice that week) its the qbs fault...
The more I think about it...With the Jets adding weapons to this team, i'm not exactly sold on getting rid of Sanchez.. I really, REALLY believe that Sanchez could take over and lead this JETS team again as long as he has the weapons to do it with. We've seen Mark Sanchez bring us 1 game away from the Super Bowl TWICE, and in my honest opinion I think he's more talented than Geno Smith and if Sanchez could get confidence to go along with some weapons, I believe the Jets are a MUCH better team than with Geno. I still can't get over IDZIK drafting Geno Smith with the 2nd rd pick...Just some of the guys that were drafted after Smith, that the Jets could've had...!. Tank carradine-DE,2. KIKI ALONSO-OLB(Are you kidding me?!?!),3.D.J. Swearinger-S, 4. Eddie Lacy-Rb(could've drafted him and then kept that 4th rd pick and drafted a quarterback such as...1) Well quite frankly there weren't any QB's that we could've drafted in the 4th, but we could've given Sanchez MANY different options on offense instead of drafting Geno Smith...Basically what I'm saying is that I do not think the New York Jets WILL EVER win a SUPER BOWL with Geno Smith at QB...I just don't see Geno as a Superstar..and i'm a DIE HARD JETS FAN!!...Hopefully in 2 years we have the worst season of all time and draft QB "FAMOUS" JAMEIS WINSTON!!! He'd be a HUGE SUPERSTAR for the JETS...A guy can dream can't he??
:rofl2: appears the Muck haters have some dirt in their eye. He was playing just fine early in the 2011 season, now I would say things went sour after the Broncos game.
You are a funny guy. Your narrative has changed so many times, your "logic" is so whacked out you don't know what you're saying. Why don't you just copy and paste "IhateSanchezIhateSanchezIcan'thearyoublahblablahbuttfumble" over and over again? _
"just fine". See, that's the difference between you and me. You think it's fine if a Qb plays mediocre. I don't. Sure he had some good stats for some games early in 2011. But the bottom line is in his third year the Jets were depending on him to throw the ball more and not hide behind the running game. So in there with solid early numbers against Dallas and Oakland, teams not coincidentally with putrid pass defenses, he was only gaining mid one hundreds through the air against Jville and NE, and had a total stinker against Baltimore. Five games in the Jets were 2-3, and while they then went on to pad the record. it was against some very weak teams like that year's Buffalo and the first game against Miami when they were heading to 0-7, and Kansas City, that year in the middle of a coach killing season. He didn't step up like he should have in year three. It is an urban legend among Sanchez Fans that it was only the three game skid at the end that was a problem, and the rest was all rosy.
why was he being depended upon to throw more? b/c we couldn't run it and we'd fall behind thanks to not being able to run and he'd bring us back in the pass game despite 3 of his top weapons that would be out of the league by the end of the year.
That has always been my stance. For the most part history has shown us that the incumbent always leaves the team. Keeping Sanchez around to appease his fanbase is bad for business. It will create an unnecessary distraction. The entire team needs to be on the same page in regards to the QB. The position is just too important.
"Just fine" isn't mediocre, it's average. He was an average QB up until the Broncos game - and was improving. Even through all of that we were 8-5 before the 3 game skid to end the season, so despite the lack of talent on the roster, we were right there to make the playoffs. The Broncos game was in week 10. Starting from that game till the end of the season, Mark's performance soured btw.
You would have a hard time understanding and I don't want you to be any more confused than you already are. Just go with "buttfumble" whenever anyone mentions Sanchez. It's consistent and you don't have to try so hard. _
