My theory on this is because we have seen this before with major media..they will pull down their pants tomorrow...why? Because they can. Its that simple. Now dont get me wrong...it could have mixing problems NYC on east..it could. So why not say if it doesnt..we are getting 12 to 18? Is that a problem? I dont understand it.
Boston still doesn't want predict snow Weather.gov for Thursday has heavy snow til 4PM then a mix of rain/snow before going back to snow at around midnight THruday heading into Friday. wunderground, has us for 2-6 inches possible, but again the snow turning to a wintry mix for some of the day thursday http://www.boston.com/news/weather/weather_wisdom/2014/02/cold_and_dry_through_wednesday.html Boston.com not ready to call it a snow storm yet, just a bunch of precipitation. Going to be interesting what happens. Thanks for keeping us updates Jay. You stay one step (if not more) steps ahead of the news/websites. I think nobody wants to be the person that caused panic then had it be a rainy/snowy day.
They're sounding the alarm out here. Snowmageddon is upon us! Most stores already out of salt. Heavy snow advisory for York and Lancaster counties. At least 6" but I think they're staying on the low end.
finally..now NYC is sooo on the border..but right now...gusts of over 50...and snow and lets say sleet and freezing rain coming down...this is one for the books.
west of you is on the border of huge snows cman..but I think you need to fire up our friend maybe 2 or 3 times.
Canadian model and british model show blizzard for nnj...if the euro shows it..lock it it. EURO MODEL..BLIZZARD FOR NORTH JERSEY. Im stating only north jersey because thats where Im getting my good readings from..but lets say from D.C phili west of...all the way to Boston..if they have no mixing issues up there. Put it in the books..sorry jonny..you are going to get crushed...blizzard. mixing issues...6-12 no mixing issues...12 to 18 with bands of 18-24...at least. Now i would love to say who mixes and who doesnt but west of i95 is a starting point..will nail it tonight..promise.
hey jay, hudson valley totally screwed here? i am thinking about getting a dogsled team for the thursday commute
I am waiting on the line for the last 30 minutes to speak with a United Airlines representative to change my flight. Looks like lots of folks got the smell of it. I wish I could finalize my Wednesday meetings sooner. Looks like I might be stuck in Arkansas for a while. I just checked mapquest and it is 18 hours drive. If I cancel all my Wednesday meetings and start driving tonight, I might beat this storm. Man, tough decisions.
East of D.C. might have mixing issues..if the do..that number sounds right...now some models are projecting D.C. with 2 feet of snow..it that happens...just east of D.C.? Again, temps will be an issue..just think the issue is a much smaller problem then the media is saying right now.
Whats amazing so far with the EURO..just read the outputs..the further north you go the more chance for mixing...getting into Conn and Mass...I just am having a hard time buying that with such a strong storm. This storm also has major back end snow..major..after the storm is past you...which will be all snow. Im trying to be careful here..well..maybe not..but areas east of i95 are on the bubble but will get front end snow..and a lot of it. Still think the closer we get the temps will begin to go down and correct themselves...we shall see..be on later.
so nws issued winter storm watch beginning at 7am thursday. looks like its going to start late and end friday morning here sound good jay?
