I wish they would give us even a glimpse of snow totals, our weatherman are just saying a storm is coming.

A day off would be nice. We'll see. Still in between that border of lots of snow and not much snow.

very much on the border..what will happen down there GD is that even if you get mix/rain...once the storm is even or past you, you will switch over to heavy snow at some point..but it might..might keep down totals.

Then again, a track just 50 miles east..and bingo, you have a full blow snow storm..it could happen.

Without boring you, the high pressure to the north..or northeast is the thing that will slow this storm up for major totals..its also the reason for the mix line. Its the only thing that is causing all of this where is the mix line stuff...still..west of Boston..or western Boston you are M? Getting a foot or more is really on the table.

I can see maybe..maybe mixing issues up there..because of the location for the high...Washington D.C. might have less mixing issues then Boston. Still, nothing to keep numbers down to 6 inches..not even close.

Jay, what are the totals for LI looking like? I keep hearing from our talking heads a wintry mix, with a lot of rain and no accumulation.

It's remarkable that no one else is calling for anything even close to this.. I trust jay. I hope this comes to fruition as a 5 day weekend would be extraordinary.

I am glad u other guys are saying what I am seeing and hearing on the news,,,,not much urgency ,,no snow alerts,,storm warnings,,,in fact some weather sites say partly cloudy on thursday,,,amazing!

Jay if I were someone seeing what u are writing for the first time I would think you are some yahoo that is clueless,,,,instead you are THE WIZARD my friend,,,the GURU,,,,,,AND BESIDES ALL that sucking up  you have been money just too many damn time to count !
Yep I know better the yahooooos are on my tv and radio,,,,keep em coming Jay and I wont haunt you about totals or this or that ( until thursday at least ) but when you have something you feel needs to be out there let us know as WE ALL are interested in what you have to say that includes a bunch of friends that are PM and going on my face book page asking what " my weather guy " has to say.........ps so when do the local weather people jump on the wagon?

I feel guilty, jay. I've cheated. Because of the nature of my work these days, I get weather event email blasts like this from government hacks: :)

Hope everything is well. BTW - you should find a way to weasel onto that National Weather Service chat group. Looks like they only allow other hacks. . . and prettyboy weathermen.

You could try public works. But you'd have to wrestle it away from the four guys leaning on it.

No I actually need a shovel, we had one of those telescoping ones in the trunk and it broke after shoveling the first storm of the year. I've been dragging my feet and actually I want to buy a real one. I'm downtown but will will be in midtown later today

Let me tell you something...that is a great write up..but it needs a few holy f##@@ in there..which i provide. Lol...I thought about that...im too friggin busy but one day when life calms down.

Great to see you in here..great to see you. Its your thread bud.

EDIT: I will tell you this, I think numbers will be higher west of i95 up there..i just do not get the dynamics for less numbers..this is truly a monster..and for the most part...being treated like just a decent major storm. This puppy will break records...somewhere.
