ok..very important on 3 fronts: This is a model..so who knows This only goes out 84 hours from 930 pm Sunday. So this would take us to 930 am Thursday which means it still snowing hard for areas north of Phili at least: Its the NAM long range and Im not sure Im buying over a foot for Atlanta and some areas south...but then again....who knows. The Nam can be trusted a lot more tomorrow at this time.
hmy: I thought "weather chick" was the code!! Oh well, an old guy can dream. The cockles were definitely getting warm though. Anyway. There's no precipitation here right now, and very little accumulation. An inch at the most. Thanks for the early warnings. Maybe I will start setting things up to work from home.
Yeah the weather.gov hazardous weather outlook says there is a coastal storm bringing precipitation to the area Wednesday night into Thursday, but "PRECIPITATION TYPE WILL BE DETERMINED BY THE EXACT TRACK OF THE STORM...WHICH REMAINS HIGHLY UNCERTAIN AT THIS POINT." EDIT: Oh and this is for Boston. That would help right?
Man..you are good...you have me cracking up..and you are correct on the codes..only you picked up on it! Good stuff.
DPF...a bit..lol. Yeah...NWS has a method to their madness. First off, for Boston, I highly doubt there will be temp issues..more of an issue to make sure this thing gets up north. I really do not think Boston sees any mixing....this is a snowstorm for mostly all except within 10 miles of the ocean down in Jersey..and even there its a toss up right now. Now you have me thinking..let me check my NWS to see if they have a HAZ warning. Thats how the NWS works: Haz warning: storm watch: storm warning; Will post ours if its there.
For North Jersey parts of Conn...NYC..Im sorry..Im laughing just knowing that JONNYD doesnt know about this yet..he is going to die: NORTHERN FAIRFIELD-NORTHERN NEW HAVEN-NORTHERN MIDDLESEX- NORTHERN NEW LONDON-SOUTHERN FAIRFIELD-SOUTHERN NEW HAVEN- SOUTHERN MIDDLESEX-SOUTHERN NEW LONDON-WESTERN PASSAIC- EASTERN PASSAIC-HUDSON-WESTERN BERGEN-EASTERN BERGEN-WESTERN ESSEX- EASTERN ESSEX-WESTERN UNION-EASTERN UNION-ORANGE-PUTNAM-ROCKLAND- NORTHERN WESTCHESTER-SOUTHERN WESTCHESTER-NEW YORK (MANHATTAN)-BRONX- RICHMOND (STATEN ISLAND)-KINGS (BROOKLYN)-NORTHWESTERN SUFFOLK- NORTHEASTERN SUFFOLK-SOUTHWESTERN SUFFOLK-SOUTHEASTERN SUFFOLK- NORTHERN QUEENS-NORTHERN NASSAU-SOUTHERN QUEENS-SOUTHERN NASSAU- 344 PM EST SUN FEB 9 2014 THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT...NORTHEAST NEW JERSEY AND SOUTHEAST NEW YORK. .DAY ONE...TONIGHT. Ok guys, will be on in the morning. Have a rough week next week so will be on during the day perhaps once..and then at night...but will have you updated until the media starts to believe this sometime tomorrow is my guess.
Oh no need to check. Yeah I was just curious because the temperatures seem like they will stay cold enough for us to get snow. Right now we are flurrying which is fine. Feels like there's been a big storm in the near future for the past 2-3 weeks now. I'm not complaining though
N.W.S. issued a hazardous weather outlook for wednesday thursday. looks like a repeat of last week, jay?
This is worse that last week FJF..much worse bud. This storm will be one for records IF..IF..all the models are correct right now. From Georgia to Maine, many will feel this one in a much bigger way. The south better be ready this time because compared to the last storm...this one will dump heavy snow down there too. The one thng I may have jumped the gun on is the temps..which Im still not buying but NYC....Northeast NJ..and L.I. ..Jersey shore..may go over to sleet/freezing rain..and even rain to the south for awhile then go back to snow..this is a long storm too..18-24 in areas just west of the temp line.d Im just not buying this changeover yet.
Locals sounding the alarm here in SoCenPA Jay. All three network guys saying chance for really big snow on Weds nite / Thurs morn. From what I saw so far, this one looks like a Miller A. Guess we need to know if its gonna make that left turn at Cape Hatteras.
Classic..I mean classic track on this one CMAN. You are in the big snows area this time bud..big snows. Track takes this storm to New Orleans straight towards the panhandle of Florida? then up the coast. Huge setup. Have seen this setup before. Temps tomorrow morning below zero for many...so the cold air is in place all the way to Florida. These tracks have been the tracks of several record breaking snows..and thats how Im basing my concerns for many many folks. The biggest question is the rain snow line..and i think as we get closer...that will be less of an issue. Im just not buying a storm of this magnitued bring rain into North Jersey..now the jersey coast and parts of L.I....MAYBE.
fftopic: years ago I was in the Ed Sullivan theatre ,,,,,it was the last week before it closed and then renovations were going to start to make it the now letterman show,,,,,,maintenance guy ( think his name was Chris ) says would you like to go upstairs ( think it was the 7 th floor ) and see the Beatles dressing room ? I was like " hell yeah ",,,,,we went up and it was very cold, nothing special walls were cinder block if I remember correctly ( I'm old now ), it was kinda small but the chills I got just standing in there were amazing,,,,,just knowing that they were rite there when it all started,,,pretty cool! Off topic I went into Elvis's dressing room as well,,,,but I stray,,,,,,,,now back to these damn updates, keep us posted Jay !
9 a m John Elliot ch2 was just talking about mixing with this storm,,,,,i guess we will see as it gets closer,,,,,keep em coming Jay
Depending on the dynamics of the storm and track..that 38 could go to 28 with a 50 swing to the east in track GG. Tough call on temps but that will iron out by tomorrow night.
yeah jonnny...sorry buddy boy..but this one might bring the house down..literally of course. Ok..will be in and out today..NAM just said yes again..euro yes...this looks like the real deal with only question being temps from nyc east. I still think that will not be an issue..so 12-18 a lock for many. Want to say have the feeling some will be 18-24...but will do that later tonight if the models stay on course.
