I don't know about you but games played does matter. The less games played the less body of work a player. Alex was a number 1 pick. That in his one full season had a solid year (2006). It's hard to judge his DNP's when he was always coming off injuries and the coaches sticking with the backup before going back to Smith. 43 games vs 69 games is a huge difference. Had Sanchez only have 40 starts due to injuries I wouldn't have wanted to give up on him. You guys act as if an OC is playing madden and is in control of the QB. In Alex one fully healthy year between 05-09 he was solid. His other seasons ended with injuries. The talent was always there. The difference is that Alex hadn't lived up to his contract because of something truly out of his control which were injuries. Sanchez doesn't have any excuses. You're right they probably cut him because up to that point he was a bust. But like I said they gave him the option of taking a pay cut. He took it knowing he probably doesn't get that amount in free agency. But he still had potential and was still only 25 years old. Realistically they can offer Sanchez a pay cut, but do they view Sanchez as a QB worth keeping and salvaging? Maybe if Shaun Hill was our QB in 2013 maybe they bring back Sanchez. But we have a young QB that we're developing. Why go back to Sanchez when they can continue to develop the young guy?
In all honesty in his first few years Alex Smith was much worse than Mark Sanchez. The difference is that Alex improved and Mark regressed. It's halftime of the SB and Peyton Manning is having a terrible game. I just hope if it stays this way the Sanchize crew isn't going to say what I think they are: you see, Peyton Manning turned the ball over and was horrible. So why can't Mark have a "few" bad games. Again trying to find any mechanism to excuse Mark's excesses. A lot more than a few!
Complete and utter revisionist history bullshit. His first 4 years were as crappy as Sanchez's and were up and down and he never improved. His 4th year was ok, but there was no steady progression in his first 4 years. Try again. _
Whose talking about 4 years. I wasn't. I said he was worse than Mark. The bottom line is that Alex got better and Mark got worse.
Sanchez has played only 4 years and most of Smith's "better" seasons came after his 4th season that's why 4 years is relevant. What JStokes is saying is that Alex Smith did NOT get better every year as you are suggesting; they were BOTH bad in their first 4 seasons. Alex Smith regression took place in his 3rd season while Sanchez in his 4th but their per game stats in their first 4 seasons are pretty much the same with Sanchez's being a hair better.
You are so full of shit your posts are coming out shit brown on my iPad. Alex Smith got better 7 and 8 years into his career. Stop using inapplicable bullshit to advance your slanted narrative. Sanchez may have sucked or not sucked his first 4 years. He was up and down, clearly. Alex Smith sucked his first 4 years. He NEVER progressed on the same career path as Sanchez. Seriously, just admit you hate the player and stop the bullshit. You're whole line of reasoning here is nonsensical. Geezuz fuck Jet fans. _
I get some Jet fans want to shit all over Sanchez and that's fine. It's their prerogative and if that's what makes them feel better, more power to you. But don't throw out some bullshit illogical crap then change the narrative. It's infantile and embarrassing. _
No, an adult is stupefied why folks post idiocy. And I wouldn't assume you-the biggest Sanchez hater (still a Jet) here -- would understand that. _
I don't really care what you say, man. You can curse and get brown in the face for all I care. I said Sanchez was better his first few years than Alex Smith. The bottom line is recently. Sanchez horrible and Smith a very good Qb. End of story.
Why do you hate a current Jet as much as you do? Is that what your fandom has brought you to? Congrats to you. _
Now you're not even speaking English. Great job, illogical and illiterate. Or just plain drunk. Not worth the effort. _
I don't hate Sanchez. I hate his shit play. And I want him off my team because I want the Jets to win a Super Bowl and we won't win it with him as our starting QB. It's really nothing personal.
Comparing Sanchez first 4 years to Smith's is just bad. Smith, unlike Sanchez, got benched and only started full time his 2nd season, that year he put up very Sanchez like numbers. that said, smith got better by staying within his short game, this is true. But for every QB that gets better after 5 or 6 years in the league there are dozen's who don't. I mean I can say that because someone won the Powerball it means that I will win it and therefore is a good retirement plan.
As I have always said why do you want him off the team when we don't have anybody better? I want him to improve he either beats out Geno or he does not.
He's not going to beat out Geno because he's getting cut. That's what you do with shit players, you cut them.
You only cut players when they either to expensive or somebody to replace them. We o not have anybody better than Sanchez on the roster that is the problem.
Sanchez isn't a clear upgrade over Geno and he costs too much money. He's as good as gone you might as well take the posters down now.
