Big Blocker logic is the best logic ever.

Btw, liar, I never said it was the only relevant metric.

You are much better at lying than at knowing about football. I will give you that.

I take it your logic is that having a worse Qb rating makes one a better Qb, right?

Frankly, I have no reason to think you even know what Qb ratings are.

Nope, evaluating a player requires more then just using QBR. Other factors play a role. watching the player play would be a nice start for you.

You should go back to that work you were doing.

It's always fun to watch blocker get smacked around. He has me on ignore so I can't do it anymore but it's still fun to watch others do it.

I'm honestly having a lot of fun - eventually he will see the error of his ways and instead of apologizing for his actions, he will block me instead.

See you on the other side junc

QB ratings do measure a lot of variables to the QB's play and is a very accurate way of quickly determining their individual skill. However in football so many variables happen that dont reflect that stat! Like a WR dropping a pass when it hits him in the numbers or a tipped interception or even a tipped completion...

I agree, it measures a lot of things. but you cannot say, QB1 is better then QB2 due to QB rating. That is absurd.

Romo according to QBR is one of the best QBs ever to play the game, but it doesn't tell the story as to why he sucks in December and beyond. It's fools gold. Statistics should not carry all of the weight - watching the player perform under certain circumstances (something QBR doesn't measure) is just as important, if not more.

it's like when someone looks at Eli Manning's interceptions and says, wow Eli sure does suck - but how many INTs were off tipped passes? Passes that come off the receivers hand only to go to the defender?

Eli is extremely unlucky in that regard

that balances out w/ INTs that are dropped or bad passes that are caught.

I heard that a lot in 2010 but I saw every INt and 80% were bad passes/reads, very few tipped balls and just b/c a ball is tipped doesn't mean it is bad luck. it could be tipped b/c it is high or he throws it where he shouldn't. I am sure Eli has an INT or 2 that was unlucky but the bulk were earned.

I don't limit it to one year, I think this has been something that has occurred throughout his career with the Giants.

Eli's wide receivers while talented - they rarely fight for the ball, they always let the ball bounce off their hands. Also, a wide receiver like Nicks at times runs some shitty routes. It's a bad case of luck I believe.

Look at this season, while Eli surely has his fair share, if you watched that awful game against the Seahawks where Eli threw like 4 INTs - 2 came because they didn't fight for the ball. I specifically remember one with Cruz.

Sure Eli's throws aren't perfect, but receivers need to adjust. they practice things like this all of the time.

BTW - I still believe Eli is very much overrated.

again, he also has short passes turn into long TDs, bad throws caught b/c of great effort by the receivers, balls sticking to helmets, etc...- that stuff evens out.

I think he was underrated until the 2nd SB then he got overrated b/c people foolishly started calling him elite. he's a good QB, one you can win w/. Can fluctuate anywhere from about 6-15

This is true that one lucky play deserves another (by the offense or defense). I think more bad has happened then good in regards to those particular plays. He's already had 2 seasons of 20+ interceptions ...

Well the big 4 (Rodgers, Manning, Brady, Brees). I don't think Eli was ever better then Big Ben so that's 5. I think you could have put Eli in that discussion as the 6th best QB during the season where they beat the Pats for a 2nd time - that year Eli was amazing despite having a crappy run game.

    Fair point on your part.

he was actually probably 5th in 2011 as Peyton didn't play. He had a good reg season, '08 and '11 have been his best full seasons.

Tough one for 2011. Stafford was pretty good that year. They didn't have playoff success like Eli and the Giants but 40 TDs? Can't discount that

Eli & the Giants will forever have a place in my heart if only for Super Bowl XLII.

Denying the Pats a perfect season is something that can't be "over-rated".
The fact that it was a NY team was just the cherry on top.

junc's ass is hurting for years because I have him on ignore. I'm reallyreallyreally sorry about that, but he sucks as a poster.

As for you, you should realize that allies of junc's like you are better off going it alone.

The Italian Navy in WWII was a better ally than junc.

That was always going to be an issue with Vick, but add in his recent injuries, and while he would otherwise be a great addition, I think he ends up being a bad one.

When was the last year Vick was healthy for a whole season? It's been awhile.

Of course it worked out for the Eagles THIS year, because they had Foles.

    Smith is no Foles.
