Post-season win-loss & winning pct. Tom Brady: 18-7 .720 M. Sanchez: 4-2 .667 P. Manning: 10-11 .467 Mark's post season record left Peyton Manning in the dust years ago. Now with another Tom Brady loss on the books, Sanchez clearly has him in his sights.
You're acting as if Peyton left Indy of his own accord. Suppose the Pats had cut Brady after his knee injury and he got his pick of any team in the league. You don't think Brady could lead another team to a SB? We need to stop being ridiculous about both of these QBs. They are both probably top 5 QBs of all time. It is a shame we can't celebrate them both without trying to tear each of them down for their teams failures in the postseason.
It is really cracking me up how the media flips the script so easily. All week we hear about how Brady has dominated Peyton using overall W-L numbers against each other. Now I wake up and see how the narrative has switched to "omg Peyton is better because hes 2-1 against Brady in AFCCGs". Lmao. So I guess now that's the goalpost.
I have no problem admitting that both are great and both have had great teams. I'm not the one running around like a dumbass, saying stuff such as, Peyton Manning has had "a career of choking."
he should have at least 3-4 SB titles by now w/ the immense talent he has played with. he has a chance for just his 2nd. How many great QBs switched teams when still playing at a high level? Craig Morton took 2 teams to SBs so it's not as big of a deal as you might think. I am sorry you don't like the truth.
Brady has signed more than 1 contract with the Pats; he could have left if he wanted to. So, why did he choose to stay with a team and organization that seems to surround him with medicore talent most of time, as Junc claimed? He should've bounced and went to another since the Pats haven't supported him, right?
Brady does not have to answer any questions, but people are allowed to ask questions. Explain this: 2007: 7 Points 55 minutes into Super Bowl 42 2009: Self explanatory but only had 14 points in a game that was noncompetitive against the Ravens 2010: 3 points at halftime against the Jets, overall miserable game 2011: Has an opening drive TD in the 2nd half to put the Patriots up 17-9 with 11:20 left in the third quarter. Does not score for the rest of the game 2012: 13 points at halftime, doesnt score the rest of the game. 2013: 3 points through 2 quarters
This nails it. At the end of the day, they're both easily going to the HOF and will be considered as some of the best QBs ever. Hopefully when they retire and we look back, we can be amazed at how well they both played the QB position at a consistently high level no other QB from 2000 onwards has done. Both suffered season ending injuries, and both came back from them playing at a high level and even entered MVP discussions. If you think about levels of greatness, like a pyramid Simmons uses for basketball, Brady and P. Manning are at the top of that pyramid with a few other QBs.
ever hear of the franchise tag? there's no way NE would have let Brady go. he ahs been Peyton like the 2nd half of his postseason career. He absolutely should be questioned. while still an all time great I don't think Peyton is quite in the best ever discussion yet. A win in 2 weeks may get him into the discussion.
The smart move for any one of the great QBs(Brady,Peyton, Brees,A-rod) would be to become a free agent and go to a team with a stacked young team already in place if their motivation was simply to win as many rings as possible. Most of these guys for whatever reason feel compelled to stay with the team that drafted them, whether for monetary reason, a commitment to the fanbase, coaching staff, or whatever other reason they have. Brady staying with the Patriots long-term does not discount the fact that they have surrounded him with a mostly mediocre defense ever since their SB winning seasons. The same can be said for A-rod right now.
Kaepernick is just 26. If he can improve his reads and accuracy, he'll be unstoppable. Look at this jump throw...all arm strength. Crazy talent.Kaepernick is just 26. If he can improve his reads and accuracy, he'll be unstoppable. Look at this jump throw...all arm strength. Crazy talent.
Yeah and when they have to pay him 20 million he will he be throwing to? Stephen Hill and Clyde Gates?
Yeah but what playmakers did they add with that money? It also doesn't help if the team has been drafting mostly poor. I think NE needs to add proven WRs in free agency because their scouting in that dept has sucked. The 2 good WRs they have had were acquired in FA (Moss, Welker). Like you said he really needs to improve on his reads. Most of the time to me it looks like he looks at his first read and if it isn't there he takes off. They clearly have enough offensive talent for him to do more. The throw intended for Boldin that got picked was a completely unnecessary bonehead throw. Talent at the NFL level is the easy part. The mental aspect is the hard part and many QBs have gone down the drain because they couldn't improve it.
http://forums.theganggreen.com/showpost.php?p=2931180&postcount=910 I never really engaged in the Brady vs Manning debate because I have always found it silly. There is no debate as to who is the better regular season quarterback. As for the playoffs? People are arguing about a very, very small sample size and killing Manning for his teams' performances. This is a team sport we are talking about here! *** Getting back to the basics- Some years Brady had a better team. Some years Manning had a better team. Brady always had the better head coach. Manning has more MVPs and All-Pro honors. *** Getting back to the playoffs- The most ridiculous part of this debate is how the playoff performances are lazily debated. I once again refer you back to this for somebody who is not lazy- http://forums.theganggreen.com/showpost.php?p=2931180&postcount=910. nyjunc, I simply do not have the time to debate this topic. I have no interest in doing anything beyond what I have already done. My mind's already been made up. You can tell the board you have won this argument. It won't bother me. You can determine Scott Kacsmar's work to be mindless drivel. You can then proclaim yourself The Almighty Lord Of NFL Stats and Debates.
