Just to add on those records against Brady and Manning:

1997-2001 vs. NE pre Brady: NYJ went 7-2
    1994-1997 vs. Ind pre-Manning: NYJ went 2-6

No one said they couldn't, but if they did it would've certainly been a suprise and wouldn't have changed the fact that the offense played a poor game.

Just like if in SB 38 Brady hadn't led them to a FG at the end of regulation and they ended up losing the game, no one would've blamed Brady for "not making a play" they would've correctly blasted the defense for playing a shitty game.

I remember in that Wild Card game, a Colts WR dropping a ball that would have led to a 1st down, and likely allowing the Colts to run the clock out and kick a FG and win. Instead, Marky Mark and the Jets got the ball back and were able to drive down the field and get the win in the final seconds.

Going into that game, even knowing the Colts were not as good as usual, I still expected the Jets to lose. When they won, I fully expected to go to NE and win, despite losing there 45-3 just a month or so before. Maybe I just have confidence against the Patriots, I don't know.

The Manning vs. Brady debate is a waste of time, as both are great, but I always feel the need to defend Manning because I think he is a better overall QB, yet no one gives him that respect.

if he throws an INt at the end of 38 he would have gotten blame.

I never said Brady and the O didn't deserve some blame b/c they did. They needed to make more plays but the reality is the D blew both of those SBs late.

do you remember when santonio Holmes dropped a 3rd down pass late in the game? drops are part of the game, the year before we were up double digits and we lost multiple Dbs to injuries then Shon Greene. Those are the breaks.

That is your perception, just look at the W-L records I posted vs. both.

all of these debates are kind of a waste of time but if we are going to waste our time talking sports why not have fun w/ all the debates? we all know they are both all time greats but it's more fun to debate who is better.

It is no surprise at all that Manning is way more respected than Brady..

Brady throws tantrums like a spoiled child when things dont go his way.

He avoids contact at all costs, regularly flopping to the turf. Unless of course he can take a cheap shot like the heel kick on Reed in 2012 playoffs (after flopping to the turf first naturally)

After losses he sprints directly off the field, helmet on. 0 sportsmanship.
That's straight up bitch stuff.. Players tend to not have a lot of respect for guys like that.

Peyton throws tantrums too. Youtube that. And it is the smart thing for an immobile franchise QB to avoid contact. They know that if they go down, so does the season.

Running off the field? Come on now. Lebron did that famously too. You think NBA players don't respect Lebron?

    Players respect talent.

I think we can all understand why most Jet and Phin fans hate Brady. we hear the same excuses about marino. I despised what marino did and what Brady does to my team but I admire everything about them as QBs. I just hope some day we'll get one of those types at QB.

I used to REALLY hate Brady back when I thought it was all smoke and mirrors the way he literally used every player on the field. Like you said, after getting spanked by him for years I finally had to man up and admit that he is one of those rare once in a generation QBs.

No sense in trying to tear a guy down when you can just sit back and admire him for what he is. Of course I still hate him twice a year

No I wouldn't. Frankly, I wouldn't want to have to move.

Your style is sometimes condescending which you have been called on by many others here on many occassions and it is precisely what turns a lot of people off about you particularly in anything Sanchez-related. It's like you take every unflattering opinion about Sanchez personally, and then in response feel compelled to needlessly add your rote "you don't understand the game like ME!" and/or "I'M not the 'average fan' like YOU!" And you have no self control whatsoever in that regard.

Having said that, I suspect that quite possibly you're not a very pleasant person to deal with in real life. No big deal, just saying how I see it. When it's always YOU that seems to be involved in contentious exchanges, maybe, just maybe it's you and your 'style' that's the problem and not your 'exceptionalism' that you like to think as being at the root of it all, i.e. junc vis-a-vis the unwashed masses of TGG. Further, that you're a self-proclaimed authority does not automatically confer 'ordained knowledge' upon each and every one of your haughty offerings. regards.

joe: we get it, you don't like to talk football but stop w/ the childish attacks on me. Many here have met me in real life, ask them if I am pleasant or not and if I'm not who cares? I am not here to impress you or anyone else. I'm here b/c I love talking football and other sports. if you don't like it stop following me.

I really should get paid to post. I inspire more people to post than anyone here which increases traffic and hits on ads. even guys w/ 33 posts in the last year use their few posts whining about me.

The difference between Peyton and Brady? Peyton doesn't punt the ball to the other team when he's blowing them out.

    Haha, what shameless conceit!

How you could keep a straight face while posting that self-aggrandizing rubbish is beyond me.

And my earlier post was hardly a childish attack. It was an accurate observation of your posting 'style' esp. when it comes to anything Sanchez-related. But I digress: what conceit! lol

it's not conceit, it's the truth. Who inspires more people to post than me? I have guys w/ 30 posts attacking me, I have guys looking up what time I post on a daily basis. if you left the site no one would notice, if I left everyone would.

No, you have guys who are amazed at how you can post non-stop during work hours...that's all. No need to get your nose bent outta shape.

Is this what you need junc? To be the self-proclaimed "big fish" in a tiny little pond? Aren't you also Miss Popularity on PhinsHaven.com?

On-topic: your "choker" is playing in the Super Bowl. Let's all choke on that. This thread's dead....enough of the Manning bashing; mission accomplished junc.

ARod played great in a postseason too. one great postseason(this is his first great one and he can still screw it up) does not erase a long career littered w/ failures in the biggest games.

Thanks for being a fan, send me your address and I will send a signed photo.
