    2009:
He was outstanding at Cincy- near flawless
    he was excellent at SD
    he was good at Ind

    2010:
poor 1st half, very good 2nd half at Indy
    excellent at NE
    good overall at Pitt

he hasn't had a single poor playoff performance.

sure, I am not all about #s. I am about how players achieve those #s. Mark was really good in 2010 but average fans don't see huge #s and think he sucked.

I was dealing w/ something similar w/ dolphin fans telling me how great tannehill has become b/c his #s were really good but he did very little in their win against us and at Pitt and was brutal the last 2 games to cost them a postseason spot. If you looked at his #s going into last week people could say he was top 10 but watch these guys play, it's about much more than just #s.

But it wasn't a team effort when they lost to Pitt? It was all the defense fault right?

I deal in reality, Joe was not nearly as good as Jet fans think and mark not nearly as bad.

we were a D first team, the D was expected to play really well and they failed just like at Indy the year before. When your best players/units(think Peyton Manning) don't show up in big games it's hard to win and while Baltimore's D didn't play great at Den last year they gave their O a chance by getting a late stop and their O tied it up. Our D couldn't even get our O a chance.

Sanchez was horrible. He was protected by a team of Veterans. If he had this years team we would have had the first pick in the draft.

Has Cutler won a playoff game ? Wondering....

Mark has won 4, wonder how many ASIDE from Peyton, Brees, Eli, Brady, and Rothlesiberger have won more.

    And on the road ??

In SD he was asked not to fuck shit up and to simply run the offense. Damn near any freaking QB could've done what the Jets asked Mark to do. In Indy he had his typical Sanchez game. Couple promising drives mixed in with some terrible plays.

In the 2010 wildcard game he was asked not to do much. Once again any QB could've done what he did in that game. AFC championship he was awful.

Wonder if the D stops Pittsburgh in the 2011 AFC CG and Mark gets the ball and leads us to the Super Bowl if all this happens...

You can have your opinion. But to diss Namath in defense of Sanchez is blasphemy.

To be fair those teams RELIED on the defense to play well. They just needed Sanchez to limit his mistakes. If he played well, like he did in most of those playoff games, that was gravy. At the time, you could live losing because Sanchez imploded, but not because your #1 defense folded like a cheap suit. I'm not saying, but just saying.

It was a team effort, the entire team came out flat in the 1st half. 2nd half Sanchez and the O was on fire. The D needed a stop to give it back to the offense, and the D failed. That is just a fact. If Mark was Aaron Rodgers or Peyton Manning, it would not have mattered, as he was on the bench as time expired.

Now if Sanchez threw 3 pick 6's or just looked awful in the Colts or Steelers games, you could make the argument that any other QB takes the Jets to the SB, but that is not the case. He did well and the team lost due to other reasons. That is my point.

Okay cool if that's your argument. I'll accept it if you can give 100% credit to the Jets defense in ALL their wins those years. Do we have a deal?

Cutler has one playoff win, at home against a 7-9 team.

from 2009-2012 only 2 QBs had more playoff wins- Rodgers and Flacco.

Really? how come Philip Rivers, a supposed top QB at the time, couldn't do it? Who made the big mistakes in that game? the "great" vet at home or the "awful" rookie on the road?

he was excellent that game and it is sad how football fans don't realize it b/c they need to see 300 yd pass games. I guarantee you that you think he played better in Indy the next week b/c his #s were better but he was MUCH better in SD.

yeah, he was only asked to win the game in the final minute. Not much.:rofl2:

I believe his overall QB rating in 6 playoff games is 97, which is 25 points BETTER than his mark of 72 in regular season.

Can we all agree on this:

Sanchez, whatever you think of him, plays MUCH BETTER in big games/playoffs and rises to the occasion.

Read the papers in a few weeks about the losing QB's and their teams....you'll note the writers and fans will be talking about great stat guys in the regular season who can't do it in the clutch.

I deal in reality, if it bothers people I can't help that. joe is the most overrated player in the history of the game.

Did I give 100% credit to the D for the losses?

I wouldn't say the offense was on fire but they did score 2 TD's. I have said all along that whether in victory or defeat that it's always team efforts ( of course you will have special cases) but anyway. You're right the defense failed. But then again if the offense wasn't shitty in the 1st half it probably wouldn't have to come down to getting a final stop in the last minutes.

You're giving Sanchez credit for wins as if football is golf or tennis. So I'm asking you again if I accept that the defense was at fault for their playoff losses then you have to give all credit to the defense. Deal?

I'm a Sanchez Tolerator (not believer, not basher :-D lol)....but the numbers rating-wise say this:

    For 2009....

    He was good @ Cincy
He was OK/below average @ San Diego
He was very good/excellent @ Indy

    For 2010....

He was very good @ Indy (because of his clutch final drive)
He was excellent @ New England
He was very good @ Pitt (rough start, great finish -- if the D gets him the ball back, we probably win the damn game....14 missed tackles in 1 game ???!!!!!???)

Being ripped by Peyton Manning is no disgrace.

Not tackling running backs in Pitt was.
