I would love to see Revis back in green but I see him as too prideful to come back. He feels as if he was done wrong because nobody called him to tell him he was being traded. Hopefully he can put personal shit aside and negotiate a reasonable contract to play for Rex again if he's available.
Revis isn't going anywhere. for one more season he is worth $16 million to the Bucs to help turn it around quickly. the new GM isn't going to come in looking to strip his team of talent. if they don't compete for the playoffs next year I'd bet the GM considers getting rid of him then because there is no competitive payoff to having him. but it is wishful thinking to think he is going anywhere this year.
I have no problem with most of the firings but Chudzinski bothers me. They stripped his team and made him play QB tag. If Hoyer stays healthy they probably win 7 or 8 games. I guess they have someone else they really want (Josh McDaniels?) Lombardi loves the Pats.
Yeah it was disgusting what they did to him, probably why the players were speaking out against the FO.
Seems like your taking a back handed shot at Rex, only one little difference you left out, 2 AFC chip appearances without a top 20 QB. Garrett on the other hand not a single playoff appearance with Romo and that talent infused roster.
I'm guessing this wasn't a sure thing right up until the end of season interview. What could Schwartz say about how the Lions played this year? No crippling injuries to speak of. The main division rivals both suffered injuries to their QB's without collapsing. The best player on the team had another great season without advancing to the playoffs. It must have been a devastating interview with Schwartz trying to figure out how to put it all in perspective and failing because it's hard to put what happened to the Lions this year in perspective. And Matthew Stafford is not a guy you give 600+ throws too, even in a dome, even with Calvin Johnson to throw too. The Lions need to balance that out some or he's going to have the emptiest "good" career ever for a QB.
Schiano likely got fired because he flirted with Penn State. If the Glazers found out he did, then he was good as gone.
The Lions would have been beyond stupid to keep Jim Schwartz. I think the Lions would be the perfect landing spot for Ken Wisenhunt. He will fix the problems quickly and turned them into a team similar to the 2008 cardinals.
which is also why you don't pay him like a QB you give 600 throws to. Stafford will continue to cripple that team, on the field and with the cap.
This brings up something interesting, with Mark Dominik fired, does the new General Manager do a similar move that John Idzik recently did: Remove Darrelle Revis from the roster?
I read on Finheaven that word is going around that Philbin might be out in Miami. Hopefully they keep him because he is a horrible head coach.
