Haha wow. Great e-mail. Cool stuff. I caught up over the summer, if you guys remember, so I could watch the final 8 live. I just wonder, in this day and age, how something as great as Breaking Bad did not catch on until the final weeks of the show? Crazy.
I blame AMC a bit...They were constantly riding the behind of Mad Men and Breaking Bad took a back seat. only the last three years or so it has taken off over Mad Men's marketing awareness... I mean its the best drama ever
Are you guys in a lost area of nothing? I feel nearly no urge to watch any show that isn't sports related now. I think about BB still, just about every day. The songs get in my head. I wish there were more.
never watched the show, but ripped the first season off the dvd's from the library and am going to start.
Did you finish yet? Regardless, what did you think? Anyway I wanted to bump this thread, because I have to tell you guys to download the last Rich Eisen podcast. The whole show was with Vince Gilligan, and it was very interesting. It's a must listen to any big fans.
I never watched the show...my son would watch it all the time..everywhere in the house. I would walk past him and laugh...breaking bad again? Dad..you have to watch it. Got Netflix a few months ago and figured..what the hell. So I started watching it Christmas Eve night...after everyone was in bed and I did my fake Santa stuff for a 17 and 15 year old. I woke up Christmas morning with a BAD headache...and couldnt wait for guests to leave my house...by 6pm, I was almost faking sleeping on the couch to get rid of the 18 or so cockroaches. When they left, my wife watched a few things and then went to bed early...so I had my fix again. The house went silent except the kids in the basement on xbox...and I started up again. Im currently just finishing season 2....Im shot...lost...I cant believe I let this one slip by. Its the best TV I have ever seen in my life.
and it's only going to get better. AMC currently has a marathon running from the start.. its on the first episode of season 3 right now.
lol..i saw that drew. I keep passing the channel and now its up to where I am...but im just a nutjob on netflix..at this rate I should be done with the series by new years eve.
I doubt the series will ever be topped and I also am sure the fan base will grow as more and more people get introduced to such a great series. Glad you are liking it jaywayne. and you are not a nutjob. Most people respond this way to Breaking Bad. haha.
I did the same thing on Netflix, never saw it until last season and me and the GF would stay up till 2am watching episode after episode till we caught up. Incredible series. I really miss it now that it's done. _
lol..ty D. and JS...my son told me that netflix does not have the final 7 episodes so im dvring the last ones on AMC for tomorrow night. Im covered.
It's certainly the best yet but I wouldn't say it'll never be topped. The Sopranos set the paradigm and The Wire came along a few years later, adding a different perspective to the style and improving on it, it was a better show for most people. Then about 5 years after that Breaking Bad had time to soak up all that knowledge, perfect everything and shattered expectations of what was possible in the process. Wouldn't be surprised if somebody else comes along in 5 years and does the same thing again, maybe even in a different genre. I agree that it's hard to picture right now what a better show would look like right now, but that's the way it goes with the bar set high.
Not nearly on par, but the first season of American Horror Story is freaking wild. Started watching the 3rd current season, liked it, so started watching the first season on Netflix and it is crazy. _
Same as you Jay, never saw it, watched almost the whole marathon, an amazing show Bryan Cranston is unbelievable, had to sleep sometime, so I caught up the episodes I missed with netflix...
Dude! That scene at the end of last episode before the xmas break with the freedom song playing was one of the most riveting scenes I've seen in a long time on any TV show. It reminded me of the end of Casino when they played house of the rising sun. It was epic! American Horror story has picked it up alright. Good stuff. My only complaint about it is that the plot often jumps all over the place. The 2nd season wasn't really that good and they couldn't keep a plotline consistent to save their lives. This 3rd season is miles better. The first season was good as well.
