Again U do not know me so why do U say I need a life when I have a pretty terrific life which I think if U saw me would like to be able to do what I do. U should thank me for finally getting this subject out in the open so NYJ fans can see how bad a franchise they root & keep in business

You are really truly delusional if U think either Geno or Sanchez has the FB smarts to win us a SB

Only good thing to come from the Kotite era was Wayne Chrebet.

The Jets are currently just a buck and a half under the cap after only adding cheap veteran band aids and rookies. Saying the Jets had a ton of cap space is a stretch. Even with the cuts being a part of the plan, the Jets had many holes to fill and not a whole lot of cap room to fill them. "Cap hell" is something of the past and gets thrown around way too much but the Jets were certainly severely restricted. Sanchez's bloated contract contributed to that. I wouldn't go as far as to say it "killed the spirit of the team" but it certainly didn't help the team. Someone who has to compete for his starting job certainly shouldn't come with a $13M cap number. As for Revis, his trade actually cost the Jets $4M in cap space for 2013.

I started rooting for this team in 1978. The first 8 seasons, and the last 15 seasons are really nothing to bitch about. The only real period of sustained incompetence was that 11 year stretch in between. I can't say I'm tired of losing, but I am tired of not winning.

I'll say this ... In 35 years of rooting for this team, the only time I felt like we actually had the best team in the league was 1986, before all the injuries. Going into 1999, I thought we would be the best team in the league, but ...

Even though it's behind NFL, MLB, college sports and soccer my one saving grace is the Devils. Thank good for Scott Stevens, Scott Neidermyer Martin Brodeur and Ken Danyko or I'd be twiddling my thumbs. The Cup loss to the Avs stings to this day because I fucking hate Patrick Roy but 3 Cups since 1995 and 2 other appearences. I can hold on to that....

I don't get why people are upset with Champ for making this thread. Being officially eliminated for ANOTHER season is really frustrating. When you add it to all the other years of failure, it definitely is upsetting.

It depends on how you define failure, you can have a succesful season without winning the SB. The Jets have had seasons in which they have had success without winning the SB. Obviously you want to win the SB every year but for me if we can't win the SB just give me a season in which by mid November you still have a shot. For examples the Steelers and Giants started 0-9 between them and for intents and purposes their season was over by week 6.

We should thank you for getting it out in the open. Now, maybe people can finally talk about how the Jets haven't won a Super Bowl in a long time, as such talk had previously been limited to hushed whispers in dark alleys.

Maybe now, people will finally feel free to complain on the internet about Geno Smith, Mark Sanchez, or Brian Schottenheimer. Maybe now, thanks to you, people will be empowered to call in to local sports radio shows and whine, or maybe someone might even host his own sports radio show and talk about how the Jets suck!

Before you bravely brought this topic out in the open, Jets land was nothing but great booze and blowjobs but now, AND ONLY NOW!!! will the Jets organization be exposed for the circus that it is.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you championjets69.

Dude think about what your saying. I went to every home game the 1-15 year (didn't even have season tickets, just showed up), and it wasn't as bad because I was a little kid. But my god, if that happened now, it would be way more grueling. There is now way these past few years even begin to compare with that. It's definitely easier when your a kid, but even then it sucked taking shit from all the weak ass giant fans in school. I sware Im born and raised in north NJ (half hour from meadowlands) and I hardly know any Jets fans. Surrounded by vagiant, cowgirl, and eagles and even dolphin fans. Of course NE fans have somehow come out of the woodwork over the past years.

I concur. The Kotite years were rough. Coslet and Browing Nagle was rough. VT going down when we had a SB quality team was rough. Bent as a general period the past fifteen years have probably been the most successful in the history of this franchise. Sadly that is actually damning with praise....

Yep. Anyone who was a jets fan back then should know this. Kotex reduced us to expansion team-like irrelevancy. One of the worst HCs to ever get the job on any team.

I am with you. The Champ cries in his beer but at least he got to see a SB that we won. Many fans of other teams NEVER experienced a SB victory! I have been a Jets fan since 1960 which is just as long as the Champ has been around. I get impatient and want to live to see a SB before I move on. BUT I will never denigrate the team as he does. I think its wrong! I get disappointed but every spring around the draft I have a renaissance. It keeps me going and I enjoy hoping, watching and reading anything JETS! If I was so negative that all I could do was crap on the Jets, I'd take up volley ball. Fans like him love the doom and gloom part of being a Jets fan regardless of what they try telling us. Its their personality and goal in life to drag others down to their level. Instead of us discussing how we are going to develop a better JETS team we are wasting our time catering to more of the Champs negativity. It has not changed over the years even when the Jets were playing well and we were going to play for the AFCCG in 2009 and 10. He predicted doom and gloom to make life miserable for Jets fans who should have been happy. I have accused Champ in the past of being a Gi aints fan in disguise and just trolling this Jets site. I normally do not respond any longer to his WOE is me threads. I have this time to wish him a Merry Christmas! I'll bet he will not smile!

Season ticket holder since the 1980 season and let me tell you it's been a tough go of it.
The worst part for me isn't even the lack of a SB win, it's the fact that we can never build a class organization that's competent & respected around the league, and who is in the thick of it year after year.

I just want a team that's consistently competitive.
