The first 4 picks in the draft HAVE to be all offense after that the best player on
the board. This draft will define the JETS for years to come. ITS HUGE.

If we finish 3rd and everything else stays the same, we could also get Steelers & Jags

Deep trouble? Hell the franchise has been in 'deep trouble' for over 40 years now.....but on a serious note we are only finishing year 1 of a major rebuild. It will take time. This coming offseason will be huge. The biggest question aside from whether Rex stays or not will be the QB position. Does Idzik swing a trade for Cousins or Flynn? That would cost a 1st round pick but could jumpstart the franchise - or does he give Geno another chance with better pieces around him?.....playmakers are a must as is TE but I don't think we need 2 of them...Cumberland would be fine in a reserve role. They need a capable starting TE, a couple of WRs, a nice change of pace RB, and an OL upgrade whether it be guard or tackle......may take longer than just this offseason. And the defense while it has the nucleus of a top 5 D could use a solid safety, a pass rushing OLB and some CB help. About 3 players away on defense but 6 or 7 on offense.

actually that happens all the time. Our sched looked brutal this year w/ Atl, NO, etc... things change. peyton will be a year older, it may be later in the season and colder. Oak comes here, we go to SD and KC. No reason we can't split those 4.

NFC central, det and Chi at home, GB and Min on road. Minny will be playing in temporary home, we usually play well against GB. we'll be ok if we improve the talent around the QB.

This. The number one draft pick in 2014 could be Houston - not predicted by anyone before the season started.

Additionally, there's still time for an AP trade, Rodgers to tear an ACL, Brandon Marshall to be arrested, Manning to get bored etc. to make life even easier.

Remember how scary NO, ATL, CAR, and TB looked before this year started?

the scary part is how weak our offense is-----prob about 30 in scoring------don't forget all the injuries that happen----all teams including us need plenty of backups---we have no wr
kerley only one catch against the panthers-----etc

I don't think Cousins or Flynn will cost a #1

We need major upgrades on offense regardless of the schedule.

Idzik's first two picks will be on defense, pass rushing OLB (Couples may be traded) and FS. These are two premier positions you really want to be 'home grown'. These 2 picks can set our defense up as a top 5 defense for the next 4-6 years. Idzik will finish the job Rex has started. When a team is 'that close' to being all time dominate you finish the job.

    Idzik has his 2014 QB.

Idzik has his 2014 Running Backs.

    Idzik has his 2014 FB.

Idzik has a decent O-Line that plays better when the QB plays better. Yes, Idzik will bring in O-Line help either later in the draft of FA (we need help at both guard positions).

Idzik has his 2014 slot receiver.

Idzik has his 2014 average TE, but could use another.

Idzik has his 2014 #2 WR (Santonio)

Idzik has his 2014 #3 WR (Nelson)

Idzik has his 2014 #4 WR (Hill)

The biggest challenge on Idzik's plate for 2014 is landing a top #1 WR, and that won't come from the draft. Idzik won't wait 3 years for a 22 yr old kid to 'develop'. He will spend his FA budget on the best possible #1 WR.

O-line help & TE help will come through the lower draft (#3, #3 (revis), on down).

    bank on it.

This is a good prospective schedule for 2014 because it is no longer 2013.

All 4 NFC North teams have questions at the moment. All 4 AFC West teams have big questions about the QB's due to age or skill level.

It looks like a bad schedule right now in the moment but N-F-L trumps everything else in football. 2014 is an eternity away and Peyton Manning is 38 in March.

This ... how anyone could honestly think of bringing in Flynn at this point. He has only played well for GB. He has made alot of money to get beat out in training camp each of the last two years. Screw that noise.

What? Why on earth would they trade a pass rushing LBer (Coples) to draft another pass rushing LBer? Santonio is gone as well, one of the biggest wastes of money we have ever given a big contract to (and there have been more than a few).
