Santonio Holmes is the reason why the oline can't block and why Geno can't throw. He's the reason why Milliner and the secondary gets beaten like a drum.

There is a lot of merit to the Kerley theory.

Kerley is a smooth, quick, dangerous route runner. Someone that consistently gets open and draws attention from others on this offense. He is a very important piece to the puzzle right now and I anticipate that our offense looks a lot better against the Raiders with Kerley coming back.

it's not that kerley is a top 10 wr. it is that receiver's after him on the roster are barely nfl players . right now our no #1 wr would be a 2 most teams (all the good ones) and a 3 on some. our #2 wr is a bust (and that hurts me to say,i really thought he would turn a corner this year). nelson is an ok 4, salas is a p.s player right now. so when kerley went out we were left with salas turner and hill. holmes nursing hammies and never 100%. kerley was the only pro talent on the roster playing the role he is capable of playing. everyone else was be asked to do more than they are able. couple that with a rookie qb who needs to see his targets come open and doesn't have the experience to anticipate where the ball should be and you end up........well here.

People very much underestimate the impact of an elite QB. I mean seriously, you think Welker is a star without Brady or Manning? Holmes would look great on the Pats, Saints or Packers. People forget who's actually THROWING the ball. Yeah, that kind of matters, just like pass protection. Even Larry Fitzgerald wasn't that productive with a bunch of rookie QBs throwing him the ball. But lets pretend it's all Holmes fault because we dislike his personality. Fuck you Holmes!

So the Kerley effect might be real, especially with a young QB

I BELIEVE IN THE KERELY EFFECT

When a rookie has something to lean on he tends to play better when he doesn't, what surprise...

First time poster, long time jets fan. At the risk of repeating something said already since I don't feel like reading every post, kerley did have a huge influence on today's game and the improvement of the passing game. Just the fact the kerley can run tight nfl caliber routes, as opposed to salas or hill being unable to create separation with their sloppy routes, causes the Oakland secondary to react once kerley beats his man, allowing Winslow, Holmes etc to get open where the safety would normally be. One more legitimate receiver really opens this offense up. The o line helped a whole lot today as well. Makes me believe that geno is not the biggest issue with the offense...but with some experienced hard working receivers like kerley make all the difference loosening up the secondary and allowing geno to spread the ball out more efficiently. Good to see a win today jets fans. Go gang green!

Now if we can add some more NFL receivers this team could be in decent shape.
