Any chance you can still add Rex as an option?

I know you are saying to replace Rex but I wonder how Rex compares to some of these names.

No issues if you can't do it.

Shaw by far. He's young, hungry, innovative, and already proven at a big time college program. The Jets brass should go after him hard. Gruden is comfortable with his TV gig and he probably wants no part of NY. Todd Bowles is a good DC but that's all he is.

    Thanks

If Rex were to go, I would prefer Shaw. Voted.

I didn't vote for Dave Toub but he does intrigue me ... David Shaw though would be my only other pick

Id rather have no one replace Rex, with Rex gone so goes his defense just draft heavy on offense this year and get a QB.

Sumlin just signed a six-year extension. You can forget about him.

I didn't see a choice for "Other." Was Shaw an OC before he became a HC? I voted for him because he was one of the few with HC experience. I don't want yet another rookie HC. With the exception of Weeb, Charlie Winner and Parcells (I don't count Kotite because I'm trying to forget he ever existed or was connected with the Jets), that's the same mistake the Jets have continually made throughout their history. Enough of that. I don't want to see the young D talent wasted while yet another rookie HC figures out how to be a HC (if he even does, which usually with the Jets, they don't).

I would take a stop sign over Rex. Especially if it was in front of Draino's drive way.

There's more than one person who can call defenses in the NFL. Rex has shown no ability to get anything out of the offense and that's a huge problem in a league that heavily favors that side of the ball.

So which coach is it you're seeing getting more out of less QB talent in the NFL right now?

I'm not sure I understand your question but there are several teams working with backup and third string QB's who get more offensive production than the Jets. The Jaguars are the only team that scores fewer points per game right now.

    No Darell Bevell?

It would probably be between Bevell, Shaw, Roman and Jay Gruden for me.

Plus, Idzik has ties to Bevell.

To be honest I'm more concerned with who will take over the defense assuming that the next HC is offense oriented. I'd be pissed as fuck if they let the D-Line go to waste because they hire a moron that doesn't know how to handle it.

Are those backup and third string guys playing with the same roster as the Jets?

I prefer Rex, but if he does get canned my top 3 choices are Jay Gruden (shocked he hasn't been hired by now), Bevell, or Shaw.

If Rex is still our coach next year what are the odds we draft a CB or DL in the first round? Point being, the head coach plays a role in building the roster. He's not the be all end all but I'm sure he's helping build that draft board that always seems to have a CB and DL ranked as their BPA. I think Rex has a way of influencing people and their opinions too.

I want an offensive minded head coach. Just my preference.

Gruden is the only guy I would see Rex leave for. David Shaw needs to get it done there for a couple more years first. He's still riding on the last of Harbaugh's recruits. Lets see what he does with his own talent before I give him the reins to an NFL team.
