We had a good UDFA in Zach Rogers, but our cracker jack coaching staff cut him. Don't even get me started on how we screwed up by getting rid of Danny Woodhead.

I'd love to see him given another chance, but I don't see it as a possibility.

I wish, I think now logical Jet fans are seeing mark wasn't that bad. It sucks he got hurt or we'd be a legit playoff team.

Smith will be a free agent in 2015 but I think the price will be higher.

Sanchez is toxic in New York. Perhaps only slightly less toxic than Isaiah Thomas would be coming back to the Knicks.

As a PR move, it would be a bigger disaster than the PSL's fiasco and would make the Tim Tebow experiment look brilliant in comparison.

Idzik I'm sure is well aware of this as this FO seems a lot more image conscious than ever before. Don't look for Sanchez to come back unless Rex intervenes and insists that it happens. If Rex can get Ed Reed on the payroll, it may be even be possible with Sanchez.

Don't you think we should wait and see how Mark's corn rows grow out before anointing him the next....the next....I don't know, pick a good QB with corn rows.

except unlike Isaiah Mark actually won here. Thomas took over a bad team and kept them bad, mark took over a mediocre team and helped make them one of the best in the league for 2 years.

I've thought about this before and still wonder:

If Sanchez had spent his first 4 years on any other team, complete with his 2x AFCCG, playoff wins over Manning and Brady at their heights, and yes, the butt fumble, say if he had done all this, good and bad, for a different team, how easy a sell would it be for the Jet fan base to embrace Sanchez coming here for 'a shot'?

I think, and could be wrong, we would overlook his failures and be thrilled Idzik is bringing in a QB who 'knows how to win in the post season'. A QB who's a proven winner who was never given a fair shake by his former team.

I can almost see the TGG fan base giving Idzik a high 5 if the shoe, so to speak, were on the other foot.

people would say well look what he did with marginal talent around him...you bring him in with some solid wide receivers and a legit OC we can win some games!

The excuses being used for Geno are the same things Sanchez dealt with in 2011 and 2012

After Sanchez got hurt I did not think there would be any chance he comes back to the Jets. With the way Geno has played I am now not so sure about that.

Bringing back Sanchez is more of a headache than potentially letting Simms get a start over Geno.

Sanchez was given over 60 NFL starts to prove he could be a proficient, starting NFL quarterback. He sucked.

But, this is simply a fallacious argument. In 2011 and 2012, Mark Sanchez was a third and fourth year starting NFL quarterback with 6 playoff games under his belt. Geno is a rookie with 11 career starts. I'm very down on Geno, but it's just not a valid comparison.

Again, Mark had the opportunity to start OVER 60 games for us. There is a huge difference between a rookie QB playing poorly and a 4th year QB playing poorly.

and he proved it until 2012 when he had no chance to succeed.

The 4th year guy had a worse OL, Chaz Schilens starting and Tony Sparano running the show. Mark in this O and we can make playoff reservations already.
