Do you have high, moderate, low or no patience for these players listed below? Stephen Hill - low - its not hard to shine as a WR even without a load of experience - he just doesn't seem to have much skill Geno Smith - moderate - QB is the most difficult step to take as a rookie but I don't think much of him and doubt he will ever be what we need - a true franchise QB - he just isn't accurate enough Dee Milliner - moderate - CB is a seriously hard position to play as a rookie - just look at Petersen Brian Winters - moderate - not a high pick so cant get too excited either way
Hill- out of patience Smith-dwindling Milliner-I think he'll be the best of the group Winters-he was abused by Buffalo, bit i think he'll be serviceable.
Stephen Hill - No catches in 2 games. No patience, he's had plenty of reps in the regular season. I don't see why he all of a sudden gets it. Geno Smith - Low patience - just like Sanchez at one point, there are things he can do out there that can help stop the bleeding. No anticipation on his throws, rushing all of his throws, and I don't see much progression. After the ATL game, I thought I was dead wrong on Geno, but it seems him not being ready for the limelight was correct. Starting to think the ATL game was due to a bad Falcons defense with virtually no pass-rush. Dee Milliner - Moderate - CB as a rookie is tough, that said I still don't understand why we pulled the trigger on this guy. Brian Winters - Moderate, he's had decent days and some really bad ones. Not sure if he's the long term answer, but he's better than Vlad.
Steven Hill needs a QB. he is of the Vincent Jackson type in terms of being more of a downfield player more so than a quick route runner or possession receiver. He needs an offense that will give him shots downfield and when he had good games it was when we took shots down field. Hill is made for a team like New Orleans. I think if hill was on the Saints he would be a beast or any vertical passing offense for that matter.
Vincent Jackson runs excellent short, intermediate and long range routes. He's far more physical and has 10x the hands Stephen Hill has. Stephen Hill runs shitty routes, has shittier hands. VJ's eye-ball coordination is top-notch. I don't know where you got this idea from ...
I should have elaborated better but early on in his career in San Diego, VJ was mostly used on deep posts. That explains his Yards per receptions being close to the 20's. Hill is the type of guy that at this point of his career is only good at going up for balls and if we constantly ask him to run short routes, he wont be any use because he is a bad route runner as is all GT receivers when they first come into the NFL. In no way am i saying Hill will even be half as good as VJ, but Hill is a deep ball receiver and we aren't using him right. He can burn anyone one on one so we should always be trying to take the top off of the defense with him to free up other players.
I have amazing patience with Hill because I'm already resigned to the fact that he's awful and doesn't even deserve mention.
High on the rookies and moderate on Hill I am patient with the whole team really. I went into this season expecting a rebuilding year, so I haven't really been that frustrated with the ups and downs of the players. I'm waiting to see how the whole season plays out
The only one I am high on is Dee -- He will pan out. Moderate on Geno and Winters, but I am leaning towards the feeling that Geno will be Sanchez part 2, wasting a few years deciding he is not the answer. Low on Hill -- throw him to the trash heap.
Winters has been decent, a major upgrade from vlad, hill, ran out a while ago, milliner, I'm not prepared to watch Kyle Wilson 2.0, if he looked in the slightest bit like he was grasping the NFL, id be excited, Smith didn't want him when they drafted him, if you watched I'm in college, in bad weather he was terrible, so its no surprise, how bad he's been, he's got the arm, but the question is does he have the intangibles?
Coples is playing decent. He gets pressure on the QB. Hes done much more compared to the people on the list
Lol, if you forgot about him, then he should most definitely be on the list, he played well against the saints, but other than that, he's been a ghost, damn i miss Barnes
During pre-season, my expectations was very low so I had already written the year off. But this team has shown flashes of great potential only to go back to who I thought they were. Right now I'm patiently annoyed with Jets players.
This thread really depresses me if you look back to the drafts of the rex Ryan era, to this point we have 2 guys who are studs Wilkerson an Richardson, Coples has been anything but impressive, an is a big question mark, Ellis? Thank god for Harrison just look back at the last 5 drafts, an whose panned out, its extremely depressing.
Stephen Hill- low, in that I don't think he'll ever be a true #1 receiver so we should look elsewhere for that, but he's salvageable and has enough to make him a worthwhile piece of our offense. Geno Smith- moderate, he's done some good and A LOT of bad, but really drafting another young guy who will struggle with getting used to the pro game is a waste of time to me. I want to give him another year (ONLY one year) with more support from the draft, free agency, and another training camp cycle to focus on making better reads and gaining chemistry with better receivers. he falters then, move on draft high. Dee Milliner- high, dudes had limited time in practice this year due to injury, it'll take some time before he's anything worthwhile, HAVE to be patient. brian winters- moderate, like him, but he needs to be a better pass blocker next year or he's OUT.
