LOL - I know, but the Jets invite the circus, year after year and then when they are doing things well, they invite it again. NYC media pays attention to everything Rex does.
But last week he got a ton of tickets and got the best prize there! It will be interesting to see if this becomes the big "story" to right about this week. I think the real story should be why the team is inconsistent. Are the players being put in position to make plays or are the coaches having them unprepared?
Lets make a list of the restaurants that the Jets can't go to while they are on the road. Olive Garden - I say no because we don't want the players loading up on to many bread sticks. Outback Steakhouse - No because someone could get bad gas from the bloomin onion. any other suggestions...
Player's coaches have a short half life in the NFL. Most players need the constant push to keep playing well. Rex has adapted in several ways already to the reality of being a head coach. He probably has some more adapting to do to get the job done. And BTW the Dave and Busters move was pretty dumb but Rex and his coaches have done a pretty good job with a mediocre team so far this year.
Rex has a wonderful talent to get his team to play it's best against top level competition by making the game almost a mini-superbowl. Unfortunately, the team almost always has a huge letdown the following week.
Guy on the Direct TV Redzone just said the Bills stated they were offended by Ryan taking the Jets to Dave and Buster's prior to the game. So essentially Rex provided bulletin board material for the Bills. The Redzone guy said it will be big news in the NYC papers tomorrow. Probably right. If the Bills did it, we'd be up in arms. Blah!! Another loss after a bye.
The Jets should be offended that Rex didn't have the Balls to pull Geno at the half. The offense just looks defeated walking on to the field and they have no spark. A change is needed and maybe he hoped a trip to D&B would force Geno not to psych himself out.
Except for the fact that when the offense walked onto the field for the 1st time in the 2nd half they scored a TD.
Gives the players 6 straight days off during the bye week, than takes them to Dave and Busters the night before a road game vs. a division rival. Nice job Rex.
This is wrong on so many levels. Win or lose, you don't go to Dave and Busters after a bye week right before a divisional game on the road.
I have no problem with going to Dave and Busters. A lot of teams try tactics like that to lessen the pressure and bond together. The coaching staff must have felt they were book ready on the game plan and felt this would work. It didn't. What I object to is the fact that during the season over the bye week guys are away on vacations, etc. and to me they should be focused on football and not be in the Bahamas, etc. As we all know Rex is 1-4 after bye weeks. The team was not focused and came out flat. The Bills outhit them and were the tougher team today.
This is a horse bleep story. What was the excuse in Cincy? Tennessee? Where they ate the night before means less than nothing.
"Shoulda left Geno in the ball pit"....LMAO!!! That is the quote of the day. I totally agree... He is Sanchize re-incarnated with all the turnovers.
god dammit now every slapdick media talking head will write an article about this that will be retweeted by every half-a-meatball in the country.
No excuse. I don't think going to Dave and Busters caused our poor play. You don't do that for 2 reasons. Don't give other team bulletin board material. Don't give media a chance to run away with a stupid story like this. Lay low, do your job.
