I forgot Reed and Landry started together in Baltimore. They probably have chemistry together.

I know his career is just about over but, I think this is such a cool signing lol. I love Ed Reed.

I know you dont sign players because it's cool but i'm just being honest.

If Reed is used right I think he can be very effective for us, i'm sure Rex and DT have a plan. Worse case scenario we are know worse off then we were without him and he serves as a mentor to the younger players.

You know what else this does...This is a move that inspires a lockerroom...It gets veterans riled up and motivated when a future Hall of Famer walks through the doors to help out

My only regret is that Bryan Thomas isn't on the team so he could be the cut that would have to be made.

But seriously, best case scenario is Reed gets semi-reborn on the Jets. Worst case scenario is he's a solid player-coach to help out the secondary.

Funny cause I was talking about where he would land, WELL I am glad he landed here. If anyone can get what is left in the tank from Reed it will be Rex. Can wait to see him play on Sunday. Great Move. Go Jets

In the press conference, he said Josh Bush went up to Reed and said, "You don't know it yet, but I'm going to be following every step you make"

That right there is a great reason for signing him.

Awesome. He'll be a great leader on defense.

lol. Most ridiculous post of the year? I have to assume this is a remainder of the season type contract although I haven't seen anything that specifically said so.

Wow. As much as I like this signing, I like it more because of what Bush seems to be buying into.

The Jets were all over this guy weeks before the draft and I was hoping he'd be the real deal--if Reed can impart anything upon him I think that's outstanding.

woah woah woah, Reed is not replacing anyone. Rex clearified, in case anyone had different thoughts, that reed will not start and they will use him when needed.

Allen and Landry are our safeties folks, Reed is just a bonus lol

    It was a joke lol

Rex actually did ask Ray to come out of retirement and put on a jets uniform in their one on one interview.

    Ray Lewis respectfully declined LOL

    Good stuff Biggs.

I think he will do fine. Low risk, high reward. I hope he plays well.

I look at it like this; at the absolute very least, Reed can't be as bad as Eric "the invisible man" Smith.

This could be exactly what this secondary needs. Reed may provide a spark in the secondary .And Rex may be able to give Reed a spark himself. Therea no risk here just reward. This guys a future hall of famer

There is always a risk when you put in an ageing vet with little skill left to replace a guy who might be more athletic who's beginning to gel with a unit.

The problem with trying to create a spark is you can burn down a developing forest.

He's not replacing anyone. In fact, he's going in so the other guys can concentrate more on what they're good at. Rex has said it numerous times, he will be used in certain packages. And you can not sit here and tell me that he will make our secondary worse than it already is. Give me a break
