Anthony on Millsap it looks like and Shump on Carroll.

Doesn't matter if we switch every single screen

Melo can play the 4, he;s a big guy.

Knicks actually leading, something I don't think they did on Sunday.

Open shots are there, Shump missed, Felton missed, Bargs missed. Transition defense burnt twice already, pick and roll defense bad. Rebounding not terrible. JR Smith can't hold onto the ball to save his life right now

Making it rain from 3 so far. Smith provided a nice spark.

Might be unpopular but Felton truly is a killer on defense with this team. This guy CANT WAIT to let his guy switch off. He gets pissed everytime another Knick fails to pick up his guy. They keep saying how weak this team is on defending the pick and roll but its Felton..period.

When Pablo came in..it was a different team. Im not saying Pablo is the answer to this team at point guard but this team doesnt need a scoring point guard. I cant watch this guy play anymore.

And sadly, he will come out and hit 5 3's the next game and all will be forgotten. He is lazy...he kills this team. With all the options on this team he cant ever get double figures in assists.

I completely get why Portland hates the guy. Real lazy player.

Felton's terrible on defense and when his shot isn't falling it's hard to see the positives for him on the team. He can't cover speed last year either, but for not I give him a slight pass because I think his hammy is still bothering him.

Nailed it with Pablo. The guy moves the ball and can hit an open 3. Also pesky on D, doesn't switch as often, and fouls smartly on the fast break.

Woodson said pre game that switching is supposed to be for the wings only, so Shump and MWP switch or THJ and Smith or things like that.

that was just a listing of the lineups, they don't know who's going to guard whom.

Shumpert against Carroll is still a mismatch. Knicks using a three guard lineup, that's what happens.

I figured it was lineups, my post was more directed towards If it was the matchup. We still dont matchup well but I think we can pull this one out because we have a superstar and the Hawks dont.

Lets see If we can hold onto the lead, can't wait to see the late game as well, I saw Durant in person at Rucker hes a beast, just needs to shoot more shots up.

If we are going to close this game out we have to be easy with the Melo ISO plays.

Solid win. Looked like a Knicks win of last year, low turnovers and high 3s. Scoring spread out, and key contributions from bench players.

The starting lineup blew a 16 point lead from the middle of the 2nd to the middle of the 3rd BUT they extended the lead in the 4th and put the game away which is nice.

Man oh man, Pablo/Felton needs to get going because Felton looks lost without him. Shump needs to be thrown on opposing PGs if (really when) he struggles against them.

James Dolan guaranteed a win. Hopefully Dolan stops speaking, but I bet he takes credit for the win.

Still surprised we didn't see Cole Aldrich. The Hawks were eating in the paint, and at times Bargs was completely lost in the paint.

Definitely the offense got stuck at times, but it was nice late in the game that they ran plays. Saw a triple screen, double screen, Melo as a decoy and got a lucky Bargs shot with one or two Melo ISOs

I know Mikey Franc will defend the guarantee like he did today, Hawks were eating our corn bread in the paint, we really need Tyson back sooner rather than later.

Also no JR crazy dribbling, playing with Melo, he defers to Melo more so when he plays on the bench unit and is the primary scorer.

Shump didn't shoot well (had a key 3 though) but he filled up that stat sheet and had 9 assists plus the highest plus/minus on the team.

Felton well, he got his shot going late. I'll leave it at that. Same with Bargs. Melo shut down Millsap which is impressive and Shump and company contained Korver well.

Man less switching means better defense. The 3rd quarter defense felt horrible. Teauge and Horford discovered they could PnR Bargs and Felton and have fun, Knicks transition D also suffered.

Only 4 turnovers! 3 of them shot clock violations, maybe 2. That's incredible and limits transition opportunities.

First team all year to hold ATL under 100 points.

Yeah I mean if we can get by with this against the not elite teams, we just need to tread water until Tyson comes back. But the defense has to get a little better at least in the paint. I expect a decrease in interior defense, but we don't have to go historically bad haha

I wouldn't be surprised with a historically bad paint D, we don't have a true starting 4 and our only true defensive player/rebounder is out for a while. The only thing that might keep up afloat until Tyson gets back would be Melo going back to his Syracuse carrying days and JR giving us 17-22 a game.

I mean in the league today, Melo is a starting 4. Most teams will match up to him to being the 4 and go small do it. At that point it's fine. He also shut down Millsap who had been average around 15-18 ppg so far. What was key is that when Melo or Bargs got stuck guarding their big guy, the guards tried to help and rebound. JR and Shump both had 5 and we lost the rebound battle by 10 only. Melo held down Millsap, but the Horford/Teague PnR roll is where the historically bad came in.

And we do have a 7 footer we signed for defense and rebounding we never play. I think we might see him against Dwight tonight because well I don't Bargs or Amare or an undersized Kmart slowing him down.

Rockets at home tonight. I checked rotoworld for a Harden update because he didn't play last night. Does anyone know if he is going to play tonight?
