team is much better than I thought they would be. But the team and the fans are the same, ride too high after a win,and too low after a loss. Happens every week. 7 days ago we were the best thing since beer in cans. Now this week, the worst.

The Bengals are a good team and they kicked our ass. This Jets team is a year or 2 away.

Yeah he will be better the both Brady and manning I bet and be in the hall of fame along with Mark Sanchez, just like everyone else said the same about.

I'm ok with Jekyll and Hyde. I've lived through a bunch of straight Hyde seasons in the past and man those make this thing we're watching look like a picnic in the park with flowers and sunshine and all the good stuff.

I mean this without irony or sarcasm, but it's sad, as Jets fans, what he have to settle for.

Exactly. Today there was nothing to feel good about. Every part of this team looked like shit.

If this was one of those Super Bowl or Bust seasons I'd totally agree with you. The thing is that I believe the Jets are having as good a "cap hell/rebuilding" season as I could imagine.

They're 4-4 and I figured I was going to be watching a 3-5 dog at the best by this point. Looking at the schedule I thought there was a chance they'd be 2-6 and needing to blow out the second half to be respectable.

As it is they could lose next week and they're still playing with house money.

The only thing that would really crush me this season is if the Jets looked terrible in December again.

well i rather lose like this then get stolen at the last second. Now the players know they need to perform better.

Honestly, I think they should keep Rex. This is his defense. He'll eventually find a way to fix the secondary, just needs a little bit more talent. I've seen plenty of good and plenty of bad from Geno. I like his arm and his poise, but his affinity for turnovers is scary, just like Sanchez. Jury's still out on him and so far I'm more of a believer than not. I like how this team's been competitive in every game besides today and in Tennessee. More than I expected. If they manage to finished 7-9, 8-8, or 9-7 and Geno plays mostly well with these mistakes, I'll be very happy and confident for the future

Agreed 100%. We aren't a contender, we won't be playing consistently good football. If we finish 7-9 and keep the coaching staff in tact, we should be pleased. There is a severe lack of talent on this team specifically at WR, and in the secondary.

    Yep.

That said, I'd rather have what we have as the first step in the rebuilding of the franchise than have Vincent Jackson and Darrelle Revis in the middle of the Super Bowl window and be 0-7 all of a sudden and no way out.

The Jets are absolutely a contender for a playoff spot. We have to win 2 out of 3 of our remaining division games. Carolina is the only team that will crush us left on the schedule. This is the NFL not some made up league of consistently good teams that play lights out every week.

The secondary is atrocious. If we don't get to the QB we get killed, simple as that.
    Cromartie is horrible this year.
