" Letting Me-vis go" was arguably.the best.personnel transaction the Jets franchise has made since drafting Namath Plusses. Sheldon Richardson High third round pick in 14 16+ million in cap space Minuses Sleazeballs Schwartz and Feinsod Uncle Sean Annual holdout and hostage threats Unfortunately we've had to endure him "leading" his Bucs to a possible perfect 0-16 season, though
Everyone bitching about Milliner is so wrong, 31 other teams would love to have this kid. He's had injuries and is a rookie. Tell me any rookie CB that has played very well from the start, very rare. Revis had his struggles year 1 . Milliner will be fine and should have a solid career, just don't compare him to Revis.
I'm a bit concerned about the radio silence re: Dee from the coaching staff. If the kid was looking good and they were enthusiastic about his return I think we would be hearing his name more. I'm all for giving the kid time and not calling for his head. The most concerning thing about Dee is not his play or his injury, its that everyone around the team seems to have forgotten about the ninth overall pick.
Dee was the BPA ignoring his injury past and operations he had i dont blame staff on the pick but they took a risk , Vaccaro was the safe pick the Jets needed tho
Imagine Richardson in two years. Him and Mo together - wow. I'm beginning to forget about Coples. Milliner doesn't need to do anything special this year other than to get on the field. The injuries were a concern on draft day, and he's shown nothing to dispel the notion that he's going to have a difficult time staying on the field as a pro. Despite his skills, I'm concerned.
go back to Alabama he never was hurt!!!!!! Why does everyone talk about him always being injured. Again he had an offseason shoulder surgery that it has been said if in season he would have played through and did play through. We have a team being cautious with an injury. HE IS NOT A WALKING INJURY, HAMSTRINGS HAPPEN
missed one game at Alabama against Western Kentucky. If it was Georgia he probably plays. His stats were ridiculous at Alabama, he also spent his whole sophomore year as the slot corner, nickel corner so has played all over the field. I am not sure why stuff keeps coming up about his knees. He had a him flexor injury at Alabama and offseason shoulder surgery.
Exactly. He's a number 9 pick coming off a shoulder surgery . Maybe the rehab took a step back due either him/training staff pushing too hard. He's not here for one season, he's an investment for the future, there is no rush, not this season
looking ahead i think coples will be the odd man out come contract time - no way the jets can give a second contract to all 3 guys.
That;s what I thought. It's too early to say much of substance about Millliner. He has hardly played. But that he's hardly played and had a history ofi injuries should cause some concern, and the CS was not happy with him when he was on the field. Still, it's too early.
I hated the pick, but i understand it and don't mind it now (especially now seeing how the secondary blows). It is discouraging that he hasn't been on the field for a while now. The only thing that caught my eye was how "slight" he looked. I thought i read coming out of college he was a big DB (6' etc), but when i see him, he reminds me a Deshawn Jackson.
Interesting read from PFF https://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2013/10/15/first-rounders-in-focus-week-6/ It's hard to fully evaluate Dee because of his limited snap count, but I was amazed how many rookies are struggling hard. Warmack in particular surprised me. They don't seem to be high on Vaccaro at all either. And I trust PFF more than Mel Kiper Jr.
This on wiki... He's listed as 6' and 201 lbs. I could be wrong but I would think he's a fraction away from being one of the bigger CBs in the league
After that draft I happened to be amongst a group of Giants scouts who went out after the draft ended. They told me Chandler Jones was the choice there, not Coples. We'll see. They were not enamored with Q. However, the once great Giants drafts haven't worked out too well lately so they could be wrong. I was wrong before mentioning Milliner's injuries. I should have said surgeries. That said, someone else is correct when they point out we do not need him this year. We need him for the future, so it's OK if he misses games in 20103.
I disagree. We need him to show us something for the future this year at least. He needs to get back on the field and get some reps. Any experience he can get this year could jump start him for next year but he needs to get some playing time. Hasn't he been questionable for a few weeks now? Shocked he hasn't played yet. I didnt realize a strain would keep him out 5+ weeks.
