We are about to get doodoed on. They are going to have a field day against our secondary... Wells, Wilson, Cromartie against White, Jones and Gonzales... No way in hell we win this game.
The Jets can beat the Falcons. That is not the issue. The issue is the Jets are not looking good on the road and now have to go to Atlanta on MNF against a desperate (1-3) team who can't drop to (1-4). That is the issue.
Hit the quarterback and opportunities present themselves. You obviously haven't been watching football that long. Any given Sunday kid
Yes...Yesterday was a terrible game, but please back away from the ledge... The Jets can win this game!!! It will be nice to win a regular season game on national t.v. for once....
Hill is going through concussion protocol, and Holmes is nursing a hamstring injury. If both are potentially out, yikes...
Well, it's not like good teams don't come unprepared to play a competitive game. That is the case with the Jets yeeterday. The Titans came with their A game and did everything right and then the penalties and turnovers again killed any kind of good performances by the team (if there were any). You can't be optimistic after what you saw yesterday. The quarterback had his worst game by far. You were hoping he meant it when he said he'd learn from his mistakes. Like another recent Jets Qb that's not the case. And this is not a developmental league. You are supposed to come out and play like a professional and not keep saying you won't the same mistake when you do. But if the OL had played even an average game it would have been a different story. Maybe an L but not a blowout. So to me yesterday the no. 1 reason we lost was the OL. After that the Dbs. OK the Titan receivers were great and held onto everything thrown in their direction. It's not going to always happen like that but for them yesterday it did. But our DBs were very weak incl. Cro. After that the Qb position which really (since he touches the ball on almost every offensive play) had the most direct effect on the game. And then STs. Our field position the entire game (and the entire season) has been an obstacle to any offensive success. Almost always inside the 20 and when the Jets are backed up within the five bad things seem to happen. So don't aslk me to even dream about beating Atlanta or that reason getting one W in the month of October. Right now it looks like the haters like Fatboy could be right about the Jets. I don't know if Rex is capable of coaching these guys up. The laps haven't worked that's for sure. I agree with Ray Lucas. If a guy keeps making the same penalties he has to be benched. I start with Vlad who if he isn't getting beat it's illegal motion or holding.
Jake Locker was shitting on our defense with receivers that have 1/4 of the talent that the Falcons receivers posses.. What do you think is going to happen with Matt Ryan and company? Last night was the first offense we went up against that was good, and this Falcon offense is way better... I know it is any given Sunday but I can't possibly see how we are stopping Jones,White and Gonzalez.
Actually think we match up better against Atlanta than we did against Tennessee. Ryan likes to take shots, not quick passes. Our defensive line should have a chance to get to the QB. With Locker, it was quick strikes to a fairly talented WR corp, all running short patterns.
Those guys are way too big and way too physical against out secondary. This is going to have to be a shootout. _
If Geno has a game like he did against Buffalo I can see this, but if he turns the ball over like yesterday, its going to be a long night.
I can't see a shootout without Hill and Santonio. We're going to have to grind it out with Powell and Goodson and I just can't see us matching them point for point. _
Yup. We don't even know what kind of shape Goodson is in.. Would be really shitty if it takes him another 3-4 weeks to get into football shape..
If Geno turns the ball over like that against Jacksonville, it will be a long day. It just cant happen, period. Assuming Geno can limit himself to one turnover, I actually think our defense matches up better against Atlanta than Tennessee.
Agreed. I don't even trust Cro in this game. If Vincent Jackson can eat him alive, then Julio Jones can do worse. And forget stopping Gonzalez or Roddy White, who will both have very favorable matchups. The d-line must generate consistent pressure or the secondary will be taken apart. The D also needs to generate turnovers. We need short fields. 17 points will not win this game. We need to score 24+ and with our offense, that won't happen without some short fields. At least in theory, Geno should play well in the comfortable dome conditions. He seems to struggle with any sort of weather conditions, so that won't be an issue. The crowd noise and desperate Falcons team, however, might be.
This is gonna be a "wish we had revis this game" and a "Why did we draft millner 9th overall if the guy cannot get healthy for more then 1 game" type of game. Our weakness is in our passing game with no WRs and a bad secondary that has no good CBs except cro sometimes.
Hopefully Goodson can hit the ground running the same way like Josh Gordon did after his 2 games suspension.
Hill and Holmes are very important. We don't have depth behind at WR and it worses players like Gates and #15 into more playing time than they should get right now. From what I saw from ATL last night, Roddy White isn't 100%. This allowed NE to double cover Julio most of the game. The big mismatch is going to be Gonzalez vs our LB or S. Ryan is going to go there a lot and I don't think we can stop it. Defensively, I think we have there run game shut down. Offensively, again we need our WR, but it looks like ATL is having trouble stopping the run. This can really help us especially if we MM lets Powell get going. It can make the PA an actual threat. Of course as with every game, limit the TOs and we have a shot. While Folk has been playing great, we need a play from our ST via a block or good return. A short field here or there is going to be critical for us. Also, with Matt Ryan, the game is never over it seems. He always seems to bring a game down to the last possession in recent times, so the defense can't let up with a lead, they can't play soft and give Ryan that extra second. He's a very good QB, the DL needs to make it miserable for him.
