People on the NFL Network said that Stedman Bailey was the better receiver on the West Virginia team. He caught 41 Tds while Austin Caught 25 in their receptive careers
Somehow I feel little guilty watching this game as if we, Jets fans, did this to the Rams. One shouldn't wish Schotty on their worst enemy, Patriots not included.
I agree, I had him out of the top 10 but picked soon after. The annoying thing is that the Bills got real value out of the trade down. I'd have been pretty happy if they took him on the 8. Instead they got Manuel who I think is ok and Kiko Alonso who I think might be a steal in the 2nd.
I wonder if they'll give Schotty another QB or ditch him at the same time they ditch Bradford? I'm guessing they both go, and maybe after this year. The Rams have good position on a QB in next year's draft with an extra 1st from the RGIII deal.
Only reason Schotty still has a job in the NFL is because of his father. This guy couldn't coach my sons team. So glad we got rid of his ass.
Kiko should have been a first rounder, that kids a football player. As far as Austin I thought he should have went in the 2nd, he got too much hype. He got compared to Harvin but he doesn't catch as well and hes a tiny guy. He really can't play on the outside in the NFL unless he bulks up. He has a chance in the slot though. The draft was just pretty weak when it comes to sure things at receivers and maybe Austin can become something.
Warner and Faulk shed light on Schottys problems at the half. There are no chunk plays, he just doesnt stretch the field. They touched on the slow starts as well. I wonder if he brought his mutant terminology wiith him over there. Sure looks like what he was running here.
Bradford is going to be a great reclamation project for somebody. I'm thinking he might even wind up sitting in Green Bay for a few years until Rodgers leaves town.
Bill Walsh always designed his plays in such way that the QB will always have one deep look, one intermediate look and one short look on any given down and distance. Of course there will be a staple route combinations that is the bread and butter for the given play [i.e. smash concept on 2-men combination route with flood on the other side, or quick slant on one man side etc] but the goal is to not allow the defense to anticipate the play. Schottenheimer's plays don't allow that. Good lord.
