Overall agree, except I think the Falcons and our second game against NE we will need a little more from the O to keep up as well. Blackjack Football it is.
Good thoughts by the TGG teamates. Agree with most of what has been addressed. I take a slightly different approach to this game. By no means are the Titans scrubs, and will require our best game to beat them. But I think our chances are slghtly better than 50%\50% if A) We stop the brainless drive killing penalties on Offense and the illegal motion/ personal foul penalties in Defense. Especially Wilson but also Cro need to keep their cool and play heads up ball. 2) No major turn overs by the O, especially in our part of the field. Geno minimizes his interceptions and the WR and RB hold own to the ball 3) Can we leverage the TEs more? Open up the center of the field some more will make our running game even better. Who will back up Powell this week? I kind of like our chances.
The D will need to force some TO's and either score on them or set up good field position. Easier said than done. If I'm not mistaken, the Titans haven't turned it over yet this year.
DON'T TURN THE BALL OVER. Simple as that. The D will also have to play the way they've been playing. If the offense has a similar game to the Buffalo game, we will be in this game all the way. Geno can't throw those "give a way" picks, and our WR's have to continue to catch the ball.
I love how you guys are 100% behind "we should have won the game but our WR's dropped passes!!!" yet New England probably had twice as many drops and also had a TD overturned. New England receivers catch the ball and they score 30+ on you. Your quarterback still throws 3 picks when it counts most. You never won that game or deserved to. Stop with the "WE SHOULD BE 3-0 THIS IS BS!!111!!"
the jets had a td turned over too with less evidence...but yea we should be 3-0. if we are in the lead we aren't throwing the ball and having those 3 interceptions.
Just like you soundly beat Tampa with their penalty setting up your win? You guys have more of an argument to being 1-2 than you do 3-0. You're neither, be happy with 2-1. You can't play the "if we did xxxxx" card and not apply it to the other team when they had the exact same issues. We both had touchdowns overturned, we both had more drops in a single game than we're used to seeing in a season, etc. I can just as easily say "well if Gronk and Amendola played....". But they didn't. So it doesn't matter. Had we not had our drops the final score probably would have been 33-30 instead of 13-10.
This game will be no walk in the park. The Titans look like they are right up there with the Texans and Colts as the best teams in that division. Based on that the Titans deserve the edge over the Jets but we are fully capable of beating this team. Ill go with: Jets 20 Titans 16 Defense holds em to 3 fGs and a touchdown. We are due for a significant turnover so hopefully its coming this week.
As a rabid Jet fan I have to say that the reality of it is you are 100% on the money. The Jets might never again play a NE team as vulnerable and laden with errors as the one on Thursday. They have no one to blame but themselves for their total inability to capitalize on the other team errors and execute accordingly. The are no ifs in football, just wins and losses.
I disagree to an extent, the Jets did not play a good game either. Belichick does not lose home openers either, they were like 14-0 before the Cardinals stunned em last year. By week 7 it is possible that the Jets have a high powered offense. The thing that worries me is that the Patriots have not lost a game yet despite being rather average. If they win in Atlanta we could be looking at a 12-13 win season for the Patriots which gives the Jets no chance to compete. Best case scenario is we enter the next Patriots game at 4-2 while the Patriots are 5-1. This would set up a game for first place (barring the Dolphins). Patriots have @Falcons, @Bengals, @ Saints. Give me one loss and week 7 is big. They could lose all three but time will tell I guess.
Tom Brady hasnt been impressive either, yes he has had drops but he is missing guys. Ive watch all the games and he is just not what he was 2 seasons ago....
I love how you're making numbers up and pretending they're facts. You did throw the weasel word "probably" in there. Regardless, the NFL doesn't track drops, but it does track targets and receptions and... The Jets WR's were targeted 35 times, and caught 15 of those targets. The Pats WR's were targeted 39 times, and caught 19 of those targets. So the Jets WR's caught roughly 42% of the passes thrown their way, while the New England WR's caught 49% of the passes thrown their way. So not only did you pull "New England probably had twice as many drops" out of your rear, but it's totally wrong. This was easily observable during the game, neither teams WR's were catching "twice as many" passes as the other, or that team would have likely won.
WTF is your deal we should be 3-0 we essentially beat ourselves vs New England and everyone saying the Bucs game was gifted is BS, they committed a penalty, a 15 yard one and thats their problem not ours we're 2-1 when most thought we'd be 0-3 so every can kiss Gang Greens ass
